It is not according to the data, it is in line with a warming trend. Doesn't stop the general public from saying that we have had yet another freak year.

Yes, eventually. Supermarkets (and other vendors) also tend to "smear out" the price-raise over a longer time-period, so the customer doesn't notice too much.

We were already talking about economics, when the price of potatoes was brought up. :)

So you are retracting your 'data' comment?

      Eddy Vluggen wrote:

No it isnt, it is a freak year. As I showed you a few posts back, UAH data shows this years is not that warm globally. But parts of the globe have had freak warm weather. (THis is of course due to the jet stream and nothing to do with GW)

      Eddy Vluggen wrote:

No empiracle evidence then. You do know how science works right? It needs empiracle data? Since there hasnt been a trend in rainfall, over any of the warming, and cooling periods of the last century, and yes, post war cooling was very real, it is fairly safe to say that in the temperature range we are experiencing rainfall does not correlate with temperature. Thus rendering your statement that warm = less rain invalid. Also your statement about 'it has been documented, they teach this in schools'. Utter BS. Oh, so the economics is limited to the the price of food is it? OK, lets agree on that so we can have a good laugh at you in a few years when catastrophe doesnt happen. Oh, and for the record, can we have a definition of catastrophe from you?

It is not. My Excel-trendline did not change due to your comment. Here's a hint; it is based on measurements, not on a subjective opinion.

Learn to write the word before you use it. "Empirical". And yes, there is data that shows the growing of the desert, shrinking of the rainforest, and changing rain-patterns.

For me personally, catastrophe does not exist; I have no stake in the outcome, and do not care either way. It is not used in that subjective way, since communicating requires using the same definition - the one in da dictionary :)

So now it isnt a freak year? Wow, you finally agree with me. Did you finally look at the UAH data I linked that shows 2018 is not that hot?

Provide that data. Please give us a definition of the catastrophe you said would happen in a few years. Waiting for the data and definition now...

2018 isn't finished, and we have set some new records. It is not a freak-year, since it is not an exception. It is in line with the trend, and as such, was expected.

Sure :) noun a sudden and widespread disaster: the catastrophe of war. any misfortune, mishap, or failure; fiasco: The play was so poor our whole evening was a catastrophe. a final event or conclusion, usually an unfortunate one; a disastrous end: the great catastrophe of the Old South at Appomattox.

OK, so just up to now, is it a freak year or not? Still waiting for the data that shows: 1) Expanding desert 2) Shrinking rain forest (due to warming and not chainsaws) 3) Change in rainfall pattern Thanks for your definition of catastrophe. We can have a good laugh in a few years.

You can wait for an eternity for all I care :D Also, for rain it matters not if the rainforest is disappearing due to warming or chainsaws.

Already done so; free download at the KNMI. Some other countries provide similar. So, I do not provide it, since it is not "my" data; they provide it, as an aggragate of the weather stations.

Always the sofist; on the contrary, I'm using data that is publicly available and used by other institutes. Your arguments here (to convince the coders!) are mostly hit-and-run stuff that can be easily be dismissed; sometimes even by your own arguments.

It makes me the one with the raw facts, and you the one that keeps cherry-picking to find anything that remotely can be used to create more confusion. You are putting a lot of unpaid effort in this; so who is paying for your sandwich? :)

Search CodeProject? Why would I give you a link I already gave you?

Just noting that it is not "my" data, but part of the public domain.

It is public available from the mentioned institute. If you are too lazy to look up a link I already sent you, then you could opt for a search engine. It is not hidden or anything like that :D

You never sent me a link, so come on, send it now. And the other data you have said exists, but suddenly cant deliver when asked. Getting to be a bit of a pattern with you isnt it.

A single experiment is not enough to "prove" that CAGW is not real. Knowing you, it is a biased and cherry-picked piece of text, funded by some large corporation :)

No, I give you well reasoned argument, backed up by solid evidence, and you jump all over the place, incapable of maintaining a consistent line of argument, and fail to provide one single link to back you up. And it is like this again and again and again. Any wonder I lose my patience with your sillyness?
