Many scientists and philosophers of science have described evolution as fact and theory, a phrase which was used as the title of an article by paleontologist Stephen Jay Gould in 1981. He describes fact in science as meaning data, not absolute certainty but "confirmed to such a degree that it would be perverse to withhold provisional assent". A scientific theory is a well-substantiated explanation of such facts. The facts of evolution come from observational evidence of current processes, from imperfections in organisms recording historical common descent, and from transitions in the fossil record. Theories of evolution provide a provisional explanation for these facts.[1]

Yes, I understand that science has bastardized the meaning of the word fact. I don't fall for it. I have my own brain and came make my own decisions.

There's no need to make up a story to fill the gaps. After dissecting, we never found a soul. When studying bacteria, we did not find a soul. It has as much chance at existing in your body as a nuclear fission-reactor existing in your body, and equal the amount of proof.

Well that settles it. If you can't find it, it must not exist. :-D

Ironically, you have faith in science. :-D Faith is believing in something that can't be seen. You believe what science teaches you without actually verifying the results yourself, which means you are taking their word for it on faith. We ALL use faith every day in all that we do. It's not a bad thing nor just a religious thing.

[Faith | Definition of Faith by Merriam-Webster](https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/faith) Outside the context of religion, it says that "faith" is "firm belief in something for which there is no proof". When I was studying science, professors encouraged us to avoid a firm belief, that science is what we know so far, and that theories could be proved wrong. It happened in the past, and probably still happening nowadays. So, no, science is not based on faith. It is not because I cannot experiment something myself that I have faith in it. But I will certainly not let a science belief rule my life based on some science fact.

That's a valid enough definition even within religion.

But as Eddy pointed out, science also bastardized the definition of fact so that they can now call things facts.

Yes, that is EXACTLY what it IS, even using YOUR definition. You have now admitted to having faith in science because you "have a firm belief in something for which there is no proof." You can't prove most of what science says, why? For what you already said. Science is our current understanding and will likely change.

Left brains vs. right brains. Science stands on its own, it does not care if you have faith in it or not. It does not care if you exist. Science does not need faith. Simple. You have faith in science because you take what science tells you without proving it yourself. I have faith in God but God does not require faith. Simple. When things are logically straightforward, it somehow messes with the leftist mind. Leftists want to complicate things for some strange reason. But the worst part is, very few leftists can actually see it.
