In fact, you agree that they should be. The Betsy Ross Flag is now a Nazi symbol to you - you accept it because Kapernick, who's last his 15 minutes of fame, is trying to get it back. Your acceptance of his reasoning is DE FACTO, destruction of the flag as a symbol of a revolution for freedom. As for the Bill of Rights - between the fact that it existed during an era of slavery and was written by a slave owner - I just follow the reasoning you have embraced. As in my previous post - interpretations by the world-at-large are not limited by the ones you pick and choose. The precedent is set - and now the fear that will follow will allow the public-facing-bullies on the right and left to destroy those remaining things that had linked us as a nation (even in the present political atmosphere). In fact - by definition - since I have made the extrapolation(s) above there's no reason to think someone else - with a bigger public platform - will not do the same (like that Ocasio-Cortez bitch).

That type of stuff was overturned way back in the Vietnam era - making flags into clothing and such, for example. Free speech. The right wanted to limit it, the left wanted to abuse it. My take, as anecdote: A 'right-leaning' person was commenting "what do people in these communist countries think when they see an American burning an American flag?". My answer? They think "what a wonderful country where you can do such a thing and not be arrested and jailed."

When they push their views, particularly religious views, upon others around them - they violate one of the great principles upon which this country was founded. They are destroying a supporting foundation of the greatness - and thus not only hate it but are its enemy. And, of course, those that want to buy an arsenal of weapons, hold up in some compound (in Idaho, perhaps?) and decide they don't have to live by the laws of the land - and got the weapons to defend the right to be separatists (how is that different, than, say, islamic seperatist anywhere else in the world?). Pick and choose amendments and rights for others? They hate this country. They want to make it into something else - and it's not into anything good - except of course for them.
