Does anyone agree with me that Nike is really run by a bunch of assholes? If these[^] assail anyone's sensibilities about the era of slavery in US History then I have one additional suggestion for Nike and all those who revel in finding offense everywhere: don't y'all wear no cotton as it may remind you of dem ol' cotton fields a-back home. Apologies to other assholes for dragging them into this mess.

That type of stuff was overturned way back in the Vietnam era - making flags into clothing and such, for example. Free speech. The right wanted to limit it, the left wanted to abuse it. My take, as anecdote: A 'right-leaning' person was commenting "what do people in these communist countries think when they see an American burning an American flag?". My answer? They think "what a wonderful country where you can do such a thing and not be arrested and jailed."

Really - you should get the reality of this straight: The right is every bit as guilty of hating the US as you feel the are liberals. Remember - who brought us McCarthy-ism: an attack an so many of the very founding principles of our country. Always, of course, "for our protection". Both sided do the same thing - they just name it differently. Remember this: only a fool would die for our flag - because it "The Republic For Which it Stands" that is worthy of such risk and sacrifice. Every country's got a flag. Big fuckin' deal. BUT - not every country has a Constitution that is 'Of the People, By the People, For the People".* Everyone and I mean everyone has their excuses of why they wish to limit your liberties. When they push their views, particularly religious views, upon others around them - they violate one of the great principles upon which this country was founded. They are destroying a supporting foundation of the greatness - and thus not only hate it but are its enemy. And, of course, those that want to buy an arsenal of weapons, hold up in some compound (in Idaho, perhaps?) and decide they don't have to live by the laws of the land - and got the weapons to defend the right to be separatists (how is that different, than, say, islamic seperatist anywhere else in the world?). Pick and choose amendments and rights for others? They hate this country. They want to make it into something else - and it's not into anything good - except of course for them.

Interesting report. Having only 22% of Democrats extremely proud does not mean the other 78% hate the country. One graphics show that only 5% of Democrats are not proud.
