Pretty ironic coming from a citizen of a country notorious to get involved into the affairs of other countries. You know, like invading to steal oil, topple democratically elected governments to replace them with dictators, etc. At least, we are only expressing an opinion. If you don't like it, just don't read it. Don't be a jackass.
Pretty sure JSOP didn't do any of those things. So why don't you also shut up since your ancestors and country and ancestor's countries once did some crap that was really bad.

The funniest is that Trump claims on a regular basis that China is paying billions to the US because of tariffs. What a fucking moron.
Please give a link to where has he claimed that. BTW, I agree, it will be consumers who pay the tarrifs. Kinda stoopid. This will only hurt China if a competing product is available.

According to history, my ancestors were pretty friendly with some natives, but in war with others, usually because they would fight the enemies of the natives they were friends with. With the English, that was another story. They did pretty bad things to my ancestors and to the natives. On the other, I agree that my ancestors (or rather my ancestors' country) did pretty bad things to the African and Asians.

Interesting, but don't you think it would defeat the purpose of tariffs? I am not an economist, but the idea of tariffs is to discourage people from buying goods from foreign countries and encourage them to buy goods produced locally (or from a more economically friendly country). And maybe hurt the tariffed country economically. Consumers getting tax cuts when they buy chinese goods makes no sense. If the American people want to make a difference, they should stop buying Chinese products, tariff or not. In my household, we limit buying what is made abroad. Not always possible, but we do our best.

Dont forget in the US the treaty the British had with the natives stopped the possession and exploitation of that native land. This was one of the many reasons the Bostonians fomented a rebellion. I am not saying the British always did it right, but it did things far better than any other European colonial power (And I heard this from a Cote d'Ivoire native, a black guy, who knew just how much they suffered under the French). France was a threat to Britains global trade. We kicked its arse, many many times, including taking Canada off them. :)

Exactly, they take a phone that costs $200 to make and sell it for $1000. There is no way such a business model could possibly incur extra costs and not pass them on to the consumer.

LOL. I was speaking of costs to Apple, but yeah they may pass-on the cost to consumers (which is usually the case). But, yeah, LOL.

I smell sarcasm. Whether or not they pass-on the cost to the consumer is irrelevant to the point of whether or not Apple's costs would increase.

Although you said that with the intention of saying "in your face", give a chance to explain some facts to you. First, if I remember well, you are from Alberta, right? I know that since years there is some resentment towards Québec, especially because of the equalization formula, and that is understandable. I have never been in Alberta. Have you ever been in Québec? So, as for the language thing, you are referring to Loi 101. They choose the number 101 because of its resemblance to the word "Loi", which means "Bill" (also "Law", but in this context it was meant to replace the word "Bill"). It is false that it is illegal to put a sign in the language of your choice. The only restriction is that you must have the equivalent in French. This is not respected by many business, take a walk in Montreal downtown and you will see. The law also forbids having English-only employees that serve clients in retail. Which, like the other one, is not respected either. Another point is English education. If you want your child to be educated in English, you must, yourself and/or your spouse, have been educated in English in Canada. If you are an immigrant, your children must be educated in French if you they go to a subsidized school. You can have them educated in the language of your choice, by paying full price, for at least a year (not sure about the timeline), and then they can go to whatever school they want after. Some choose to do so. You have to know some Québec history of why it came to this. You should read about the [Durham Report | The Canadian Encyclopedia](https://www.thecanadianencyclopedia.ca/en/article/durham-report) to understand the resentment of French Canadians towards the English. Things have evolved since, but French Canadians outside Québec are still fighting for their rights. Take the example of Ontario. Twenty years ago, the Ontario government had to close one hospital in Ontario. Guess what, they chose Montfort, the only French-speaking hospital in Ontario. It is a modern hospital, with very good health services. And the Ford government cancelled a French university projects and some services for the French-speaking people. If they give him way, he will re-instate the

They are not paid by China, but by US importers and customers. I am not really against tariffs, but lying to Americans saying that China is paying them is unacceptable.
