Lots of people have favourite movies that were big hits, but what about those that you thought were really, really good - but bombed at the box office for some weird reason. Even if the film didn't do so well, perhaps it has a great line in it? One of mine is "Tremors" from 1990. The best line is, "...but I want to live for the three days"!

An old Mel Brooks film - The Thirteen Chairs. Never seen it associated with his film lists, but I think it was one of his best.

Yeah we're in Fredonia right now and its 80s so yeah we hit it right, at least here. We were going to Yellowstone in a couple of weeks but temps there are getting cold so I think we will try going this week, temps are supposed to rise for several days. Haven't drove in the snow for many years and never pulling a camper.

Does Fight Club qualify? It's IMHO a masterpiece, among the best movies ever made, but AFAIR wasn't exactly successful.

The movie I would pick is "Trancers". A definite B movie, almost no film production budget, but it just worked.

Braindead (or Dead, Alive in some places) is a great horror comedy. And his two earlier movies (meet the Feebles and Bad Taste) were similarly great if you like the genre

Little Shop of Horrors Ultra low budget, greatest comedy scene ever - the Dentist - Steve Martin & Bill Murray. Also Sigourney Weaver & Dan Ackroyd !! Several versions and endings - all great.

The Man Who Knew Too Little (1997) with Bill Murray. Laughed through the entire thing, but most people I mention it to have never even heard of it. It had a $20M budget and only made $13.7M, and it has a 41% on Rotten Tomatoes, but I love it.

I've always liked "Being There". A comedy illustrating people's willingness to believe what they want.

There is an obscure semi-horror flick called "In the Mouth of Madness" ...and one can never forget "Better Off Dead" +1 Tremors
