Is there any test to determine whether my laptop hardware is capable of supporting Windows 11?

Check you windows update panel, it tells you or there is a link to something that tells you. it might look like your system can't upgrade, but the windows update report tool might tool you are missing PTM2.0 or something, but, on most recent system, it's just a matter of truning them on in the bios. Windows update will still say you can't upgrade (while the checker tool say you can) in which which case, just wait a few days, Windows update will eventually catch up

Lenovo yoga When I was using as my note table during our weekly D&D & CoC afternoon, it ended up with like 20% left after 8 hours. On Windows 11 it ends up at 65%. Yeah!

I think my battery life would also reach miraculous levels with W11. Simply because I would not use it very much. After recently installing Linux, Windows is almost completely retired now and only used once in a while for games.

I have lived with several Zen masters - all of them were cats. His last invention was an evil Lasagna. It didn't kill anyone, and it actually tasted pretty good.

Your children want to know where you keep the keys to the house and the combination to the safe. :) Not fatal. Been running it and VS 2022 in a VM. Slower than 10 but that will go away. Like any interface changes, I want to puke at them at first site but I can get used to almost anything. Wow, love the shiny new icons! Also running the developer eval in a VM and it is OK. My base is Linux but I am not a zealot, just a preference. SSD's are so cheap, I don't understand why folks don't trial that way.

I spotted a huuuuuuuUUUUUUUuuuuge problem with Windows 11. All the windows have a new rounded corner. But my pet project app (using custom Window chrome from MahApps.Metro) still has a square border! :sigh:  mm... I can probably get rid of MahApps.... It has a nice title bar though... (that and some minor restyling is all I use, and I mean minor)

They are. I'm thinking about all problems that you might or might not get with updated programs and settings and such. From experience, I prefer a clean slate for new major versions.

I do too. I just don't want to spend the money on Win11. It's not even that I can't afford it. It's the principle. I bought Win10 (again) back in january when i bought my machine. At this point it just seems like throwing good money after bad if I make that purchase.

I always get the license with my hardware. So I guess you're using a VM. In that case you could probably make a copy of the VM that you can upgrade, then create a new VM and move that license to it. Would have to check the license agreement to make sure though.

only in some case with some hardware... I think, I forgot the name, but those SSD that look like a memory chip, are supposed to be slower. Got one on as my main drive though, not noticing anything (not that I am taxing the system anyway) (by supposed to be, I mean it's a bug, of course)

I do too. I just don't want to spend the money on Win11. It's not even that I can't afford it. It's the principle. I bought Win10 (again) back in january when i bought my machine. At this point it just seems like throwing good money after bad if I make that purchase.

I have home. I used to always upgrade to pro until i realized there's no point.
