Just finished Final Fantasy VII Remake, great game (though not as brilliant as the original)! Before that I played Hades, very addictive. Other than that I played Ratchet & Clank, the entire Mass Effect trilogy (awesome, epic, some of my all time favorites), Outriders, Baldur's Gate II (the original, not the enhanced version, for good old times sake)... All of them on PS5, except BGII which I played on PC. Started Kena: Bridge of Spirits, but unfortunately I don't like it very much due to lack of story. Same goes for Darkest Dungeon. Looking for a new game to play at the moment.

I tried mass effect because I liked Elder Scrolls Skyrim and Fallout 4. Thought it was too structured. Both of those have good story lines though. and mods when you get bored of the base game.

These days I only work virtual jigsaw puzzles on FascistBook. Or cards with the family. The last real computer games I played were Myst and its sequels. Before that I went through all the Kings Quest, Leisure Suit Larry and other Sierra games, and a zillion more from the 70s. And of course, old codger that I am, my first was Colossal Cave and MS Flight Simulator on a Trash-80.

Do you know about Wordle? Wordle - A daily word game[^] It has kind of taken over social media, but it really is kind of a neat (simple) game. Just guess the 5-letter word in 6 tries or less. THere is a new word puzzle every day. It runs in your browser. Very simple but quite satisfying. A bit like the old game Mastermind but with words. If your afraid, run the VirusTotal.com[^] on it.

Curious, I've discovered that quite a few members here play video games when they are not writing code. Some of you even design game mods. What games are you playing in your spare time?

I used to...then wife/life/family took over my spare time, so not much anymore...I'm lucky to get a half-hour of Super Mario for PC a month! (the only 'game' I've actually installed on this system) edit: sorry, I almost forgot about MineCraft which I haven't played in over 3 years now! Ah, there was a time though, when I would spend hours in a dark office until the late hours, working my way through the likes of Lighthouse, Myst, and then Riven. I wasn't much into the FPS as much as puzzle solving. When I retire, maybe I'll have time for games again...and by that time, with VR, I'm sure it will be way better than I remember.

Colossal Cave (PDP-10), Flight Simulator and Wizardry (Apple ][+), Arcticfox (Amiga 2000), and the Myst series. I've tried a few since then, but the only ones that managed to hold my interest were Obduction, Firewatch, and The Witness. I no longer have any interest in "real-time" games, which eliminates a lot of them.

I used to have an XBox 360, but two RRODs put me right off consoles. Pity, it was good while it worked (and cheaper than gaming spec PC's). Oblivion on XBox was very nice, better than the PC version on mouse and KB.

This is one thing I love about 2(.5)-D fighting games, platformers, metroidvanias, roguelikes, and card games. You don't need an insane rig to play them. You can pretty much play them on anything built in the last 10-15 years, even if it's a gorgeous game like Hollow Knight, the Ori games, etc.

I don't recall landing it successfully! Not until there was PC version with graphics that were more realistic. :)

Colossal Cave used to be available on the Amazon App Store. Might still be. Rogue was the first game where I was involved in reverse engineering. There was a fairly weak scramble on the “god” password.

Superhot (lab scene in endless mode only) on PC and Scrabble on phone for burning time. Severed Steel third, but I like it's music better than the gameplay, I am growing old for action games.

Currently I am playing an ancient game, commando's behind enemy lines. I was talking with someone about ancient software and games and then I remembered this one, so I searched on it and found that many old games are "fixed" to run on modern windows. I guess in a week or so I loose interest again...
