It takes a lot of mental strength to handle this story. It is black. And relating Elon to Johnny is really ... I don't know what to say. Cruel. Brutal. Black. If both Apple and Twitter go down the world will be a better place. Remember, Apple was the reason the EU forced all device manufacturers to go to USB-C as the single charging standard. Apple also has acted like a monopoly for years when it comes to access to iOS devices; both Microsoft (Windows) and Google (Android) have open environments for developers. However, I wouldn't bet against Elon Musk. I would bet against Apple in this case.

Interesting... I stand behind Musk fighting Apple. I am sick and tired of the silencing of American Voices. If you don't want the app. Don't download it. But go back and view Apples DEMANDS: - You cannot let people search for COVID/LAB Leak (hmmm. Because it looks like it was TRUTH?) - You cannot... I saw "Johnny got His Gun" in 1971 at university when it came out... Didn't know about the novel but it was the grimmest anti-war movie I have ever seen. It was also superbly told and acted...

Those are 3 very interesting sentences all in a row. If you look through the eyes of the 10's of thousands of Twitter accounts "permanently" suspended by the previous regime simply for the mistake of questioning the effectiveness of cloth masks, canceling in-person school or mentioning the contents of a certain person's laptop it takes on a whole different perspective. Just saying...

Rather certain that the bans were put into place after they did it repeatedly and ignored the warnings that twitter sent to them. So more of a matter of stupidity, ignorance and/or arrogance. On the user's part.

I don't think Gates or Jobs fired dozens of people for using an internal account that was specifically set up to encourage free speech. I don't think Gates or Jobs claimed that they could save children trapped in a cave with rising water using robots. And then insulting the leader of the team that would in fact go on to rescue those children. Now Jobs probably did make promised claims for new products that never showed up. But perhaps not as much. The only 'politics' that I have seen from Musk that matter are his attempts to rationalize his behavior for what is obviously his personal agenda by claiming that it is the fault of others because of their politics.

Huh? In 2009, when the EU initiative first started cell phones, all of them, were using proprietary connectors. Far as I know all of the companies attempted to restrict (legally) the connectors so other companies could not make chargers that had that connector. What makes you think this was just a problem with Apple? I certainly had at least one flip phone, which was not an Apple product, that was like that.

So? Twitter and Facebook have already admitted that the US DOJ pressured them to advance the official government narratives that COVID did not come from a Chinese lab, masks and social distancing were very effective, lockdowns were essential and safe, children would not be harmed by missing in-person instruction and that Hunter Biden's laptop was Russian disinformation. Pretty much every one of these narratives has proven to be false yet anyone (including scientists, doctors, nurses, teachers, lawyers, etc...) who questioned any of these narratives and didn't cow to the US DOJ / Twitter insane censorship was kicked off. Nobody should be OK with this scenario. Nobody!

I don't have a problem with Musk like so many people here apparently do. I try to live by the mantra of cleaning my doorstep before I clean others. I don't always succeed at this but I do try. So, you can hate on Musk all you want until your heads explode, or you can chill out, and worry about more important things.

That is just not true. Free speech is only regulated between the government and the people. Twitter is not the government. Simple as that. Companies in the United States are allowed to control their products. Twitter is a company product. So they can control it. Just like Apple does not allow porn of any sort for the IPhone. Just like every company (modern ones) does not allow employees to view porn in the work place. Even on their break. And companies can and do fire people for what they say in the work place and even when not at work all the time. Regardless of what twitter does any US Citizen is still allowed to go to a public street corner and shout whatever lies they want. That is what the US Constitution is about.

That has nothing to do with anything. China is a different country. Companies in different countries must follow the laws of that country. Just as if a US citizen was in that different country then the laws of that country (or even the lack of laws) apply to that US citizen. Which is why a US teenager was caned in Singapore, because he broke the laws of that country and received the legal punishment of that country.

Cool. Is some of the footage in the video from the actual movie? I found a download link for the movie. I'll definitely be watching it later. I like war movies, especially anything that hasn't been produced in the last 20+ years.

First, what's true? Hunter Bidens Laptop? The FBI (That would be our government). Told Social Media Companies to HIDE the story, bury the story, etc. And they did. And they shut down the accounts that pushed a TRUE story. That's Proof #1. Proof 2 is the NEW revelation, that these companies have been PAID by our government, to give access (portals), so they can indicate WHO should have their speech silenced. This has come out in a few lawsuits... NOT covered by the mainstream media. Include Dr. Shiva who showed that there were special contacts his LOCAL officials had, that used to have his reach REDUCED by Twitter, etc. And I hope it all gets exposed. But go back and Read the old Trump Tweets. The media said he called for violence. NEVER happened. The tweets are visible again. And Joe Biden himself said they would work with these companies to silence voices... funny how many tech companies, seem to be BIG GOVT supporters... Many of them have contracts to give access... But you keep on believing OUR government doesn't silence people by contacting social media companies. I had the same with Count of Monte Cristo. People see the movie and think it's an uplifting revenge story. It's not. The full story by Dumas is bleak. I feel it nearly sent me into a depression. It's a story about revenge allright. But in the old-testamental sense: I will not only destroy you, but I will destroy everything in your life: your reputation, your business, your children, your children's children, and when everyone is dead and everything has turned to ashes you will finally know why and weep for the destruction of everything good in your life. I kid you not it affected me really bad and took time to get out of it.

Have you seen "old Boy?" (the original corean version, not the late try of blockbuster) It is a bit easier to handle but it still forced a " :omg: :wtf: :~" of mine when I saw it.

Free speech ends, when law limits are crossed. (And yes, I know that law limits change a lot depending on where you are and what you say, but the definition still is valid, other aspects would require another kind of discussion). If you still want to say it... do it, I don't care, just accept the consequences when you cross the line. The positive side of not having a moderation team and account bans and all those "free speech" extremist fans... their comments remain longer online so eventually the authors can be found and / or other possible connections to illegal activities can be traced down.
