Hot wave...

Yeah, I mean, Mesa...
I was out there for work once in August, holy crap it's nuts how hot it is! Dry heat, shmy heat, it's damn hot.

And then it's broken by fifteen minutes of rain coming at you sideways.

I was there during my holiday, it was a long drive indeed from the Netherlands to the cabin south of Prague, but luckily we had no big traffic jams and the trip went smoothly.
Personally, I think I would enjoy a long drive like that...

It's a great place to get away from for the summer.

The new slogan! :-D Yeah, my folks are part of the few that stay year round.

We've been here year-round since 2004, once we could no longer afford SoCal.

Greetings from Phoenix, AZ. At 108F we go about our normal day. It looks like 118F is forecast for this Sunday. Actually, we do try to get up to the higher elevations of the northern part of the state as much as we can in the summer. It looks like 107F in Sedona (4300 ft elevation) and 96F in Flagstaff (7000 ft elevation) on Sunday.

So I guess all the snow has melted at the Snow Bowl north of Flagstaff? We visited in April and they were still skiing there. Scottsdale, then up to the Sedona area and took the drive up to Flagstaff as something to do.
I’ve given up trying to be calm. However, I am open to feeling slightly less agitated. I’m begging you for the benefit of everyone, don’t be STUPID.

Well, there is nothing better than a refreshing Staropramen, Kozel or Radegast after a day in Prague :-\

We are looking forward - not really - a hot wave of 42+C (~108 F) this weekend... What were you doing in that kind of heat?

Installing a small system in Kuwait. And celebrating my 50th birthday while I was there.

In times like this owning a house near the woods is priceless.
Or by the ocean 😉

In Texas we say "we are having a heat wave" or just another long hot summer. 42+C is pretty hot. We get some of that in west and north central parts of state. Near the coast, not so much but still high 90's. What we do in that kind of heat, is stay in doors most of the time with AC running full blast. All our cars have AC.

At this time of the year that would be a not so hot day in Texas and I would have adopted the lifestyle of a crocodile and spent most of the day in the pool.
I have lived with several Zen masters - all of them were cats. His last invention was an evil Lasagna. It didn't kill anyone, and it actually tasted pretty good.

And you spemt the time since then in Antarctica? Was that really the last warm day for you?
