I thought of CONTRACT but the clue stated the answer was 7 characters long whereas CONTRACT has 8. I also thought of CONDUCT but that didn't fit the definition. Did the character count shrink too? :laugh: After that I tried shrinking the word AGAINST and combining to some synonym of MAJOR to define passage. :~ In any event, I'm counting my effort today as a win. :-\
