              I always have trouble with this spelling because it looks like it means, "of or pertaining to a telephone."

                                      In India, it is Aluminium, and is pronounced so. This is likely to be as in Britain. However, when i went to the US, about 20 years ago, saw the spelling as Aluminum, and even the pronunciation so.
