you don't need to close H4 tags - as per the documentation... http://msdn.micrsoft.com/html/elements/h4/[^]

Nishant S wrote: BTW you havent closed the H4 tag 1) It's in my nature to swim against the tide. 2) Just because I "should", doesn't mean I "will". In fact, it usually means I "probably won't". (refer to item 1 for the short version of this statement). 3) The requirement to actually close the H4 tag is an illusion (see previous thread about lies and illusions) where IE is concerned. ------- signature starts "...the staggering layers of obscenity in your statement make it a work of art on so many levels." - Jason Jystad, 10/26/2001 "You won't like me when I'm angry..." - Dr. Bruce Banner Please review the Legal Disclaimer in my bio. ------- signature ends

I'm using Firebird, because I love tabbed browsing and mouse gestures. But if some site is IE-only-compatible, I launch IE, because my religion allows me to do it. Mozilla is open-source. Why don't you change it to make it more IE-aware? See ya! You can do it on anything you choose - from .bat to .net - A customer
Like you I am a fan of Firebird and Opera, I use CP because it is worth the agro of firing up IE, but generally if the site does not work in Opera\Firebird I won't use it as there are plenty out there that do and have the info I require.

Something is definitely amiss. I use Firebird and until recently I had emoticon buttons - but these are gone AND so has the "Preview" button! And when I reply, the original message is displayed using a horrid mono-spaced font..? Chris!!! However, you're leaving CP because of this? Errr ... seeya!

Unless I'm much mistaken, you can still type them, and the formatting. Just to confirm: <b> - Bold <i> - Italic <u> - Underline <strike> - Strikethrough <small> - Small text <big> - Big text
<pre> - Preformatted text

Code
< - < > - > & - & <a href="LINK">link</a> - link <a href="LINK">link with new window</a>[<a target=_blank title='New Window' href="LINK">^</a>] - link with new window[^] Emoticons: see the emoticons page[^]. The new :sigh: ( :sigh: ) and  ( ) icons don't appear in that list yet. Maybe Chris should detect non-IE browsers and show a list of valid formatting, rather than the buttons.:wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf: :wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf: :wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf: :wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf: :wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf::wtf: all done from mozilla firebird. what a sweet browser. loads pages twice as fast, don't know why but i've seen it again and again. the tabs are awesome, hey microsoft get a clue! Why in the world would anyone wish to perpetuate the support of proprietary "standards" forced on us by a monopolistic, greedy corporate entity whose only interest is dominating every facet of the personal computer market? I have a much better idea. Why doesn't Microsoft go through the same standards approval cycle that everyone else seems to be capable of? Why does Microsoft simply support the current standards instead of going off on their own and creating their own "standards" simply because their browser has such a huge share of the market? If you think more people use IE because it's a better browser, you need to go here.[^] The reason more people use IE is because MS includes it with the OS and have succeeded in making joe-blow-average-homeowner fear change because other browsers don't support Microsoft's standards, and that their web-browsing experience will be less satisfying as a result. They are not concerned with anything but locking poor ignorant bastards into using MS crapware. What a bunch of freakin horseshit.

John Simmons / outlaw programmer wrote: If you think more people use IE because it's a better browser, you need to go here.[^] John, you didn't read my post, or maybe I was not clear enough: I'm using Firebird. John Simmons / outlaw programmer wrote: Why in the world would anyone wish to perpetuate the support of proprietary "standards" forced on us by a monopolistic, greedy corporate entity whose only interest is dominating every facet of the personal computer market? Because, on my book, a "standard" is what more than 50% of the people use. And, if all other people start doing it, they will not be "proprietary standards" anymore. I use IE at work and Mozilla at home. I noticed the other day when I was posting something here from home that the preview button was missing in Mozilla.

Who says that the Open Source people have to follow standards. Open Source people are worse at standards than Microsoft. At least Microsoft has a chance of enforcing standards on their software. If people don't like the standard the one who is promoting it is just spinning their wheels. I think IE is a ok web browser. It works but it is lacking in LOTS of features (take a look at mine to see some of the features). As far as User Interface is concern Microsoft set the standard (which people approved of), i.e. start bar. Also there are many features and programs that should, based on the open source model, twenty billion times better on linux like the windows manager's keyboard mapping Windows keydoes nothing (if it takes away pride that bad get over it), Common start menu apps (see XP), and WIndow Media Player 9's AutoPlay lists/song ranking etc. -Steven Hicks

If my memory serves me correctly (very unlikely), he also said that all of that stuff for Mozilla and NetScrap-gecko domahicky-thingmajigs would be back up within 24 to 48 hours. I'm curious though; Can you explain why there is such a dispaportionate percentage of NetScrap users who act like 4 year olds, throwing a tantrum every time some thing even remotely doesn't seem to go their way?
