Worst films ever

Many movie gowers don't want an experience, they want a rigid story with beautiful people. Passing a kidney stone is an experience, but I wouldn't call it living. Tim Smith I'm going to patent thought. I have yet to see any prior art.
I never passed judgement on which was wrong and which was right. Neither are either, merely personal preference. p.s. If they could make a movie that was not to arty farty on the experience of passing a kidney stone, I would probably watch it. regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass South Africa Anna-Jayne Metcalfe wrote: "Cynicism has it's place in life - but it should be kept well away from your inner self." Agreed with all of them, except Vanilla Sky. I thought it was a brilliant movie, even though it was a direct rip off of the original. Why, oh why, didn't Pearl Harbour get to the first (or even second) spot? **I Dream of Absolute Zero

I always said after watching the worst one that I wouldn't insult my backside by forcing it to sit through it again but everyone else seemed to think it was brilliant. Mmm... guess Gigli is so horrific that it was wiped from everyone's memory. Unless they're just referring to movies that a good number of people have actually watched.

Speaking of really bad movies, my wife and I recently rented the latest encarnation of Charlie's Angels. Twenty minutes into the "film" and we couldn't take it anymore. What a pile of dung! Regards, Alvaro

What does it mean if I enjoyed quite a few of their top ten worst films? A.I had beautiful moments though it was a let down overall. Pearl Harbour was cool for the battles, nice entertainment and anyone who was expecting a historical docu should have their heads checked. Vanilla Sky was just freaky man, but it had Diaz in it, how could I not like it? The Avengers was just fun. But yes, Battle Field Earth and Highlander were just utterly horrendous. Titanic, Eyes Wide Shut and the Blair Witch I have not watched. regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass South Africa Anna-Jayne Metcalfe wrote: "Cynicism has it's place in life - but it should be kept well away from your inner self." Paul Watson wrote: A.I had beautiful moments though it was a let down overall. A.I. disappointed me a lot. And all because it could have been so good... :sigh: If Spielberg would just have cut the movie with Haley Joel trapped in the ice, i would have been happy. It was a good ending - it left things unresolved, it left questions, but it told a story.

Titantic is the worst film ever ??? Sure, it sucked, but the worst film ever? Police Academies? Short Circuit 2? Planet of Apes 2002(or whenever it was remade)? There are alot of movies much more deserving of the title "Worst Ever". Titanic was forgetable at best.

The worst film I have every watched was Trainspotting. By far, the most miserable 10 years of my life were spent watching that film.
A great film (in my slightly humble opinion), and I really need to buy the second sound track CD sometime. Nightclubbing by Iggy Pop - amazing track :-D Elaine :rose: The tigress is here :-D

I assume this is though taking children, not because you went on your own... The tigress is here :-D
I'm not that much of a masochist ;) And my brain isn't turned into jelly so much that I'd seek out Pokemon in preference to pretty much any of the films on that BBC list. If I'd had that mp3 player back then I could have tuned in and turned off, but that blasted pika-pika-nasty rat thing would maybe have pierced through any headphones anyway. Still, my kids have outgrown it now...and moved onto Yu-Gi-Oh. Oh the joys of parenthood. :~ Debbie

LOL!! '8) Battlefield Earth You said... "A totally miserable experience shared with six other sad and bemused people and 120 empty seats."' Not at all surprising. L. Ron Hubbard was once overheard at a party in 1950-something saying, "the only way to make any money in this business is to start a religion." He was a complete failure as a science fiction writer, being an utterly incompetent wordsmith, so he invented a cult to generate income and compensate for his ineptitude. I read many of his "Battlefield Earth" series books in the hope that he would finally learn to write. He never did. Movies made from good books are bad enough; I can't imagine why anyone would waste the funding on a movie based on a book that was, at best, a boring, childish story. "Your village called -

The reviews are just slamming it. Too much flash and too little story / plot.

The worst movie I saw as a kid was Yor, the Hunter from the Future. As an adult I think the worst thing I've ever seen is Timequest, a really, really, really unwatchable movie that had a seemingly good premise: what does the world look like today if JFK's assassination had been prevented? Just awful.

The original television series was fantastic! I'm not sure whether that's because the show was so good, or because I wanted to do Emma Peel.:-D "Your village called -

That's a real pitty, because I thought Battlefield Earth, the novel, had real movie potential, to rival Dune and Starwars as epics. I hope nobody butchers Greg Bear's Eon. Hallelucination - when you think you see God
ProffK wrote: That's a real pitty, because I thought Battlefield Earth, the novel, had real movie potential, to rival Dune and Starwars as epics. Very true... the book was simply amazing..... why they had to turn it into a "movie" (i use the term loosely since it was so bad), i'll never know. :( :sigh: The kindest thing you can do for a stupid person, and for the gene pool, is to let him expire of his own dumb choices. Traffic rocked! How can you knock it? It was a masterpiece I thought. The whole style was just awesome. At least Wing Commander the movie was more entertaining than the game. No idea what my friends saw in that deathly boring series of games. Privateer and the like were far better. regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass South Africa Anna-Jayne Metcalfe wrote: "Cynicism has it's place in life - but it should be kept well away from your inner self."
