The best thing I have found to do is the following Right-click My Computer Click Advanced Tab Click Settings under Performance Select adjust for best performance and click ok This in-effect stops the themes service and free 16 mb of memory (And the bonus is you get rid of tellytubby windows I live in a world of my own but it's ok because everybody knows me there

Since all controls are rounded, it looks like win3x

I don't run it - I use either Aikon XP or Eclipse OSX so I don't have "tellytubby windows". To me the so called "Windows Classic" look just looks horribly dated now. UxTheme.dll is definitely the way to go - and it's fun to write for too. ;P Anna :rose: Homepage | Tears and Laughter "Be yourself - not what others think you should be" - Marcia Graesch "Anna's just a sexy-looking lesbian tart" - A friend, trying to wind me up. It didn't work. Trouble with resource IDs? Try the Resource ID Organiser Visual C++ Add-In

I've not found it too bad at all - although the documentation is horrible it's a huge improvement on having to use raw GDI to write custom controls. :) Anna :rose: Homepage | Tears and Laughter "Be yourself - not what others think you should be" - Marcia Graesch "Anna's just a sexy-looking lesbian tart" - A friend, trying to wind me up.
