Glad to see you've not taken the defeat to heart. I was up all night watching the match. Think things went to hell when we were forced? to bowl first. The wicket was really a bitch. We had no real chance. "One of the Georges," said Psmith, "I forget which, once said that a certain number of hours' sleep a day--I cannot recall for the moment how many--made a man something, which for the time being has slipped my memory."

After a few tries 106 . caught off the last ball ;) "One of the Georges," said Psmith, "I forget which, once said that a certain number of hours' sleep a day--I cannot recall for the moment how many--made a man something, which for the time being has slipped my memory."

I want to know how the top all-time scorer managed 999 for 24 balls - doesn't seem possible if the most you can get is 6 for each one  Steve

Probably got it stuck in some part of the field that the fielders could not get to and then ran 999 times. i.e. a bug in the game. :) And Jonty Rhodes got 7 off one ball once for South Africa. Probably others too. regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass South Africa Ian Darling wrote: "and our loonies usually end up doing things like Monty Python." Crikey! ain't life grand?

hehe yeah, seen that too. Though AFAIR Jonty got his with a Six and a wide or something like that. Bit hazy my memory. This brings back fond memories of S.A. in a long past world cup having to score 22 runs off one ball after rain screwed it all up. That was a sad, sad day. regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass South Africa Ian Darling wrote: "and our loonies usually end up doing things like Monty Python." Crikey! ain't life grand?

Hopefully, someone will come up with a system that is easier to predict and slightly fairer to the team batting second. The Duckworth-Lewis (or however it's spelt :~ ) system is good, but impossible to understand and tends to advantage the team who bat first. But you'll have to admit, 22 runs off a single ball would be a cracker of an innings! :-D

***** NOT FOR KID SISTERS! ********** We call it the _Fuck_worth-_Loose_with system here. Screwed us a couple of times (though in the last WC it was thanks to our captain not pushing for one more run before the rain came down. Just one run!) We are just bitter though. regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass South Africa Ian Darling wrote: "and our loonies usually end up doing things like Monty Python." Crikey! ain't life grand?
