Another Hosting Question

Hi all, I know there is a hosting question about once a fortnight, so I think its about time I asked one. After finding out that my brother is being ripped off by one of his good friends, I've decided to basically whip up the same site that he has at the moment, but using ASP.NET and find a good hosting server. Now if anything I ask sounds a little stupid, it's probably because my experience with ASP.NET is very limited. (this is a good learning experience). I'm after a hosting server that allows me to use ASP.NET, provides access to SQL Server(or any db access), and the code-behind ability. The site I'm creating will most likely be quite simple to start with, and will not necessarily get much more complicated, so I'm looking for something quite cheap. What are peoples experiences? Any good hosting servers out there? [EDIT] One more question. If this guy registered the web address, and I create a new site and put it somewhere else, how do I go about making that address point to a different server? Almost all hosts that are MS based offer these features. Back to basically asking for a good host like the other questions :) Before I got my dedicated server, I use to use Fripple.com[^] Had them for a few years. Thanx rocky I'll have to have a look at Fripple. From the searches that I've done, I've found many places that host only ASP pages, and don't even give you access to any database. I've had good luck with WebHost4Life.com[^]. (If you use them, I'd appreciate a referral: http://www.WebHost4Life.com/default.asp?refid=jsagara[^]). Regarding the domain name, try to make nice with the guy who owns it and see if he'll transfer it to you. Failing that, see if he'll point the DNS entry at your new servers. If not, consult a lawyer.

Usually you do work on behalf of an employer, and the employer owns the work once it's finished, but I'm not a lawyer, so I don't know the definitive answer. SetupSite! WOAH! Worst webhost I ever used! Maybe they improved, but my site was down for hours everyday because of problems I had never seen. For example, the server would cache my .ASP pages (even though I had no cache system implemented). So my clients ended up seeing 2 days old pages, even after I updated the ASP/HTML code! I also remember they had severe server issues very often. For me, never again!

I personally use www.webhost4life.com for my Glacial Components site and I'm pretty happy with them. Their 24/7 tech support thing is a lie, but other than that the servers are decent, the bandwidth is decent and the uptime has been great.
