What was the original idea as opposed to the modern incarnation? regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass South Africa Christopher Duncan wrote: "I always knew that somewhere deep inside that likable, Save the Whales kinda guy there lurked the heart of a troublemaker..." Crikey! ain't life grand?

Show tunes? As in from the opening of Friends or Married with Children? Or do you mean like Andrew Lloyd Weber and from les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang? I know it isn't cool to admit liking opening ceremonies but I love them, they blow me away. The Sydney Olympics was just incredible. A lot of work went into that and they did it amazingly well. regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass South Africa Christopher Duncan wrote: "I always knew that somewhere deep inside that likable, Save the Whales kinda guy there lurked the heart of a troublemaker..." With only 3 days to go to the Olympics, which events are you looking forward to watching most? (if any) I find the gymnastics incredible and always look forward to watching them. I also quite enjoy watching the marathon. Unusual for me to be looking forward to sports TV quite so much

I used to love watching the Olympics in the old Roone Arledge ABC Sports days. Now, the US coverage is (in my opinion) very poor, so I don't watch it. I would love to be able to get my Olympics through another country via satellite or the internet. But NBC has all of that locked up. So I'll watch highlights here and there. And long for a return to the pure, old fashioned Olympics where the winners got laurel leaves and the competitors wrestled naked...:-O liobsynde We have choices. They are definitely a big part of the positive effect that can be experienced from the total event.

I dunno. The summer olympics just isn't as fun as the winter olympics. Maybe I'll have a look at the Judo and Boxing matches. -- Denn du bist, was du isst! Und ihr wisst, was es ist! Es ist mein Teil...?

Is Taekwondo an official olympic game now? Ok. Add that to the currently not too big list of events I want to see: Judo and Boxing. :) -- Denn du bist, was du isst! Und ihr wisst, was es ist! Es ist mein Teil...?

Yup. :D The 2000 Games were the first games where TKD was an official event. I'm a Taekwondoka myself, so I'm biased, but I also look forward to all the Martial Art events, including as you mentioned, Judo and Boxing, but also Fencing and somewhat Wrestling. I don't normally watch sports from TV, but if I am forced to watch something .... it would be woman beach volley :-D "Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the universe trying to build bigger and better idiots.
