Just spotted the article on Slovenian newspaper Finance where they interviewed Americans living in Slovenia who they'll vote fore. All except one voted for Kerry, the one for Badnarick. http://www.finance-on.net/show.php?id=102695[^] Such are the effects of brainwashing and propaganda in Europe (but that does not exist in Europe, of course!) I would really like to see how other Americans living in Europe will vote. Now if there's no propaganda I would expect them to divide pretty much as people living in America. But something tells me this won't be the case - and the lefties will have another excuse and explanation for this fact. Tomaz

Actually I'm just naming something for what it is. Propaganda. And I would not bother doing it if in Europe we would have balance of news sources like in the US. They have newspapers and TV stations that do propaganda. But they have TWO SIDES. Then the reader would have a choice. In Europe, however, he has no choice. It is ONE SIDED. Without letting the other side to speak. Our news are one huge Michael Moore movies. And the very predictable and logical result is that great majority of people think in exactly the same ways. Tomaz

Imagine a newspaper system that publishes news from both sides. For every pro-Bush article, one anti-Bush article is published. Now, imagine a blogger who sorts the newspaper articles. He tries to translate the anti-Bush articles, and throws away all other articles. Would his blog be much different from the one you linked here? Conclusion: One blog says NOTHING. It can be stupid propaganda against specific papers.

We keep monologues, we talk about US without Americans, we criticize Reps without giving them opportunity to tell their story. And reporting across the Atlantic is balanced. In US you have Democratic and Republican newspapers. For example you know what to expect, when something is written in NYT. And that allows competition of ideas which is lacking in Europe. Our reporting is completely single sided and in addition it is radical. "Michael Moore" radical. And since public opinion commonly mirrors media coverage you can guess who is influenced by propaganda and who has more balanced reporting. Seek for diversity of opinions as an indicator. Tomaz

No, actually, you don't have to place people to Siberia for this. It is enough to provide one single point of view and keep on repeating it. If you do it in mainstream media then you will be successfull. Not everyone will fall for it, but you can always call those that do not "extremists" and one should "look what the majority of the people think" and not invite them to shows and refuse their articles. I've seen this happen in Serbia in the nineties. Propaganda in Europe is luckily not this far yet. But it is still too far for my taste. Tomaz

I can see your point and therefore I challenge you to stand behind it. For every positive article about G.W.Bush that you can find in a German newspaper, I will post you three negative articles (so you have 1:3 advantage). We'll do it until one of us runs out of material. And I guarantee I'll win, because though your point is theoretically correct in practice there are almost none pro-republican articles around in Europe. Perhaps in Britain. Tomaz
