Chris Just my 4 cents ? [due to the low exchange rate ] I don't blame you about the abuse idea, But don't you think 100x120 is awful small and a 35k limit is excessive for that size ? Regardz Colin J Davies

He prolly meant 3.5 K and didn't hit the [.] key hard enough And also prolly his [.] key is all ruined now cause of repeated typing of the word ".NET" :-) Nish Sonork ID 100.9786 voidmain www.busterboy.org If you don't find me on CP, I'll be at Bob's HungOut

100 x 120 fits nicely in the 'biography' section at the bottom of articles. For a JPG or GIF, 5-10Kb of that size is normal, but for a bitmap, 35Kb is about right. I still get article submissions where the image format is .bmp, so I'm allowing this format for those poor souls. cheers, Chris Maunder

Bowing to popular demand (and also the fact that I've got a ton of boringh stuff I should be doing, but did this instead) you can now upload images that will be displayed in the 'who's who' pages, and next to your bio at the bottom of your articles. BTW - no abuse of this facility will be tolerated. Post a pic that is offensive, degrading or downright illegal and your account gets flagged as having no images allowed permanently. If the system is abused generally then it gets scrapped. "Don't you have more important things to be doing?" I hear you all cry. Yes. Yes I do. cheers, Chris Maunder

As far as the bmp issue, I think you are soft. :-) Some of us still don't have broadband and bmp is always dead slow for some strange reason. Regardz Colin J Davies

Cool :-) I went looking for a pic to upload, and realized I don't have very many pictures of myself (imagine that!). Most of the pictures that I do have of myself, my face was turned half sideways, too close to someone else, or are from a week long train trip I took last spring (meaning not the nicest). Not to say that the one I uploaded is the nicest, I'm sure  . In fact I thought I should explain the expression on my face. Actually No! I think 100x120 is just right. Anything more and people will start posting their family albums featuring mom, dad, grandma and the cat and dog thrown in as well. I think just a bit more and we could post pictures big enough that we can actually tell one person from another. Christian I have come to clean zee pooollll. - Michael Martin Dec 30, 2001

The problem is the people who look at it again, and again, and again. Of course any such person would not be of interest to qomi, as they are obviously too stupid to right click and save it to disk.
