I just saw an ad for Boca brand sausages. Mitsubishi had problems with their Pajero model here, in Spain. It's called Montero here. I don't think I could say the meaning of Pajero in Spanish without being censored. :-O

It's true. Vauxhall/Opel (GM european brands) made the Nova. In the UK they called it that. But it was branded Corsa in europe becuase "No Va" means no-go in spanish. and sort of in french too. Sorry to dissapoint you all with my lack of a witty or poignant signature.

No, "tipo" doesn't mean anything in Finnish. "Uuno" does mean "stupid-man", but I haven't heard about sales problems for Fiat Uno caused by that.

No Va = "No Go" I had a list of about 50 "bad names" when I was in college advertising class.
