afinnell wrote: It probably won't affect you and I, but in the generations to come there might be a problem. Why would this be a problem? Ease burdoned infrastructures, lower water consumption (which is so high above water cycle rations that we are all running out of water), we might be able to feed the people we have, etc. There are some good reasons to reduce rather than grow. I don't see reducing the number of generations in a lifetime as a problem, but a benefit. _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau. Where's the money for supporting all the retirees supposed to come from? When the programs were first put into practice there were dozens or hundreds of workers/retiree, it's now in the low single digits with some projections showing wage earners slipping into the minority in the coming decades. This is a major problem in the US, Western Europe, and IIRC Japan.

Boy, that'd be a fun one. Us Jews just can't wait for another Jihad or Crusade, we're always treated so royally when those things come around! ;)

I feel like we are paying credit cards with other credit cards? I am neither conservative nor liberal, but even I have a problem with saying that we MUST give birth to more children every generation to support our current way of life. _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau. I think that show would've been in poor taste with the recent death of John Paul II.

I have two comments on that. (a) I don't think it's supposed to be in particularly good taste. :) (b) If the BBC had got their finger out, they would have shown it before he died. All the Best Julian
