Own domain vs Flickr Pro?
-
Why not have both? You can use Flickr to host the photos and you can use your own domain to display them. You also get to be part of a community on Flickr which you may or may not want. If you don't want you can just set the default privacy to "private" so no one can see your photos unless they know the exact URL to the raw image.

I like the 'private' option. With my own site I have to provide userid/pwd for people I know so that I can stop outsiders. But that doesn't stop outsiders to break-in.

Or try this Lussumo File Browser. put your pictures in the same folder as the FileBrowser or a sub folder and let it do all the work. It even has a utiliy to create the thumbnails. I use it on my site.

Oh c'mon Jon, you never got that look from Kelly's dad? Considering what album that's in (looks like his daughter's going to a dance), that's clearly the "You do anything with my daughter that I don't like and I'll kill you" look. :-D Which, by the way, is one of the main reasons I want to have a baby girl one day. I totally want a chance to be that prospective-father-in-law that all guys dread. :-D
Picture a huge catholic cathedral. In it there's many people, including a gregorian monk choir. You know, those who sing beautifully. Then they start singing, in latin, as they always do: "Ad hominem..." -Jörgen Sigvardsson

Are you CRAZY ?????????????????????? There's no way the boy doesn't win... Sorry to say...:( You really look forward to the "I came for your DAUGHTER. When I'm gone you know I got 'er"...????? That's from some ole blues song. Having a girl is fine when they're little, but as they grow up... OH LORD it gets tough... There's another joke that goes, umm, this is the lounge ain't it... It goes... When you have a boy you've only got one BEEP to worry about. When you have a girl, well, you've got THOUSANDS of em to worry about. Ok. Enough about the oh so freaky daughter/dad relationship. It's freaky often, but it DOES have it's good moments occasionally :) ...Steve

Paul Watson wrote: Also friends have signed up for Flickr and are adding their own photos. After every weekend I get a stack of photos of what they have been up to and there is usually a flurry of fun comments as everyone catches up. Yes, I quite like the community aspect of Flickr. I subscribe to a number of the groups' RSS feeds so I can see stuff I am interested in. I then get my pedantic hat on and tell people that it is "Princes Street" and not "Princess Street" and so on. :-O Actually, some of the fun things are seeing what tourists think of Scotland. It is very interesting to get an outsider's view as it makes you think about things in a different light. That is also one of the reasons why I enjoy showing people around Edinburgh. [EDIT] Odd how my reply to Paul ended up here [/EDIT]

It would be OK, though half of our database records had 'Princess Close' making it difficult to find records. Why didn't sombody make this a unique/primary key :((
