Thank you for your well said and well thought-out post. It actually wasn't my intent to solicit negative input toward lauren. Rather, I wanted someone to defend her and her point of view. I have yet to see any post that successfully does so. Only attacks. But you have a good point. It was a wrong way to go about it. I sincerely apologize to you and everyone else and especially to lauren.

If you try to kid yourself by suggesting things like "I wanted someone to defend her" then you've talked yourself right out of that opportunity. You didn't want someone to defend her. Actually, the secular nationalist leaders took advantage of the religious xenophobia of the populace in offering the Jews as a scapegoat for Germany's economic and social ills since WWI. Religion was used, but just as a tool.
