Pointers, memory maps, marshalling data across process boundaries writing bridge code in assembler to align interfaces. You know the normal stuff that gets talked about on software development message boards. What are you talking about, I forget already?:->

OOOOO! I'm so impressed. I am a programmer too, so you are not making me feel very belittled.

Oh! That's great! So do you discuss programming then on your firearm message boards?

Are you anti-gun? Why do you seem so aggravated that I posted that?

Not anti-gun at all. I live in Idaho. Here guns are given for birthday presents. I think what has me annoyed is your method. I think I would have respected you a lot had you just brought up gun control and wanted to know what people thought about it. I would have told you that it's almost as affective as just leaving automatic weapons lying on the curb. I think gun control works about as well as the drunk driver campaigns work. You touched on a nerve with your method. That and a real knucklehead has been here lately causing several annoyances by registering a different username each time and then posting a bunch of garbage. I think I would have respected you and *possibly* participated had you taken a different approach. But I'm not anti-gun at all. A *very* long way from it to be sure.:rose:

"Sarah Brady" was a White House press secretary and gun activist for whom the "Brady Law" was named. This is obviously an NRA troll who is peeved that he can't easily buy an AK47 anymore to shoot squirrels and coke-cans in the back yard so he is fishing for our sympathy by trying to make us realize how we would suffer if the same unfair restrictions applied to our dangerous dev tools. James Brady, actually. He was shot by John Hinckley Jr. during the Reagan assisination attempt. His wife was Sarah. Cheers, Drew.

When I write software for killing squirrels and crushing coke cans he might have a point. In the mean time I will point out a statistic I admittedly haven't checked myself that there are more gun shops than branches of Macdonalds in the US. Maybe someone could tell me if this is so? False.

Even more false. The preferred weapon is the same as the police use - a 9mm pistol.

I think that this would greatly reduce the virus problem.

It would have exactly the same effect as gun control - none whatsoever, other than to disarm the victims. It suffers from the same faulty thinking, that the criminal and ammoral people in society will abide by the law. Only those who would never dream of writing malicious code will register. Nice troll, though...;) "...a photo album is like Life, but flat and stuck to pages." - Shog9

In the end laws are often a reaction, you have to change the culture about guns which is slow and difficult. The tigress is here :-D

Wow! Thanks. I'm definitely convinced now. Just to think I never ever would have learned this if you hadn't barged into a software development message board not knowing anyone here and not having any credibility at all and shared this brilliant insight with us. You are so convincing. Your methods so perfect your desires so pure.:zzz::zzz: YAAAAAAWN!!! Go back to killing chipmunks with your pocket knife okay? Good!

I don't like the ridiculous free access to guns that we have in the USA but I'm to torn in my reaction to that statistic, if true. Big Macs are far more dangerous than guns. ;) Steve T
