File difference/comparision tool recommendations

Because the company doesn't pay for third party tools, and doesn't allow me to install anything that isn't freeware. Cheers, Vikram.

We had araxis merge at our company too, but I have to say that i really did prefer Winmerge. Much easier to handle. But if you want to invest time & money, it seems like a good solution. For quick & free I'd rather chosse Winmerge. The only thing I know Araxis Merge handles is that you are able to merge 2 files if you have got a common predecessor.
All the label says is that this stuff contains chemicals "... known to the State of California to cause cancer in rats and low-income test subjects."

My company provides CodeWright 6.5, which has this feature, but unfortunately it sometimes crashes when I'm trying to load the files. :| * The tool *has* to be free. It's for use at office. * Syntax highlighting is not essential, but would be nice. * A small IDE with this feature would be just as good, provided it's free. Yes, I googled, but got bored quickly.
