I don't know. At least Microsoft's designers have rediscovered colors with Windows 11. Ignoring the higher resolution, the Win10 UI could be rendered on a 4-color CGA video card. Seriously, look at any of the Settings screens...blue, white, black, and...gray? And if MS had it its way, everything would look like that throughout. No thanks.

One of the great/horrible things about node dependencies is that sub-dependencies can be interdependent so if your code uses version 5 of a library and your dependency uses version 3, you will end up with both version 5 and 3 loaded independently in your app. I've wasted so much of my life attempting .net dependency updates and just giving up because nothing is actually broken yet. Yeah no. For one thing if I design for one device only, I have to redesign to support multiple devices. Also pixels are important, or CSS wouldn't have them. I agree with you and would add that the inconsistency we see today can confuse users. For our desktop apps, we've had user requests to add commit dialogs where the button labels are not explicitly "Save". It's confusing to users, myself included sometimes, when a save event is fired on a 'check change' of a radio or checkbox control. It also can add more data writes than having a confirmed save changes. Seems more prevalent in browser-based controls, where there are more programming considerations than in the more controlled desktop space.
