You mean someone actually found a bug in the venerable CP code? :omg: Say it isn't so! What's next? Cars that occasionally break down? Politicians who don't always tell the truth? Good heavens, man, just think of the social implications here! This is what I get for skipping a few weeks - I miss all the exciting stuff. Personally, I think Chris just throws in the occasional errant line of code to make the rest of us feel better about our own little debugging adventures... Christopher Duncan wrote: You mean someone actually found a bug in the venerable CP code? To be fair, it really was a tough time. The site was belly up more often than not. I've seen two strong communities go down with connection problems - it was deja-vu all over (and this time the site deareast to me) But the crew managed it. Perfectly. We're up and running. WooooohoooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOooo!!!!

***I don't want to start even the smallest fire here but I am really curious. There is plenty to learn from this, for instance. If you don't want to talk about it then just say so and we fester in silence rather.*** I believe in transparency*. Have your dirty laundry airing out on the washing line rather than festering in your mistresses panty drawer. People are much more interested in what is behind the closed door than what is sitting in the open door. And if they don't find out, they make up the wildest, craziest stories. Something happened here. This isn't just a code monkey who left the management team, it was one of the two founders. RealDevs.net was Marc and Anders from my perspective. Now sure there have been many founder-pairs that have split early on each to go his own way. But then there is your part, coming in and joining the original two. Then not long after, Anders leaves. That is odd. I am just curious as I said. It is interesting to learn about how entities such as this begin, evolve, grow, change, break apart, re-merge etc. And being open about it puts a stop to rumour mongering :) regards, Paul Watson Bluegrass South Africa Ian Darling wrote: "and our loonies usually end up doing things like Monty Python." I think you forgot the text that goes along with that asterisk. :) I tend to disagree. People are rumor mongers, and frankly I feel that it's none of their business. I expect a certain level of maturity (yeah, yeah, I know, this is a joke, me talking about maturity, right???) and it would be nice if there was a general "well, this is their business, not mine" reaction. But no, people want the dirty laundry hung out so they can read about while waiting in line at the grocery store, along with the three eyed freak. Let me tell you what happens with airing out the dirty laundry. Each person says their side of the story, arguments happen, and the observers form opinions as to who is right and who is wrong. And those opinions can be a lot more damaging, because they get spread to other people, than the lame execuses like "he left to spend more time with his family", as at least this way, you're left guessing. Transparency is a load of codswollop when it is used to fill a womans magazine. It is however useful when it explains to the stakeholders how their position is changing. Regardz Colin J Davies
