VPN - XP Pro ??
-
In my home desktop PC (Windows XP Pro), I coudn't create VPN connection. I did the following steps: Control Panel - > "Network and Connections" -> "Create new New Connection" -> "Next" -> "Connect to the network at my workplace" -> "Next" This is the dialog picture : Image[^] At this point it's displayed "Virtual Private Network connection" and "Dialup Connection" options in the dialog. But surprise is both radio buttons are disabled. But the "Next" button is enabled. I got Cable modem connection and logged in as Admin. Any VPN experts here?

I've managed to connect to my home computer from work - handy since I have far more tools than they have - but I can't "go" anywhere. My computer correctly logs me in, but I have yet to figure out how to view the contents and browse the server. The connection is active, but nothing appears analogous to the tree view I used to see when I connected from my home to the server at my previous employer. I'm thinking it's got to be something new to WinXP - it worked fine when I hacked the work connection (an NT machine) from Win2K, and I never even set up a trust between my home domain and theirs. In your case, I'd click "Next" and see what happens. "If it's Snowbird season, why can't we shoot them?" - Overheard in a bar in Bullhead City

I'd hit Next and see what happens. Good luck :-) Nish

This signature was created by "Code Project Quoter".I remember having a problem like this before and it was some seemingly unrelated connection option that I disabled. Once I renabled it, then I could setup the VPN. Try checking the connection sharing settings and then removing the connection and setting it up again with all the default settings?

Most places I've been at use Nortel's VPN solution and require that you install their VPN client on your machine. Using Microsoft's VPN won't work. That is the setting that fixed it for me.
