it means your WPFCOMDDE++ modules will now be able to talk natively to your ActiveTSQLX# assemblies, allowing for greater enterprisation and solutionivity in customer-facing IMAPIBob2K applications.

Ahh I see, so the value added WPFCOMDDE++ modules will allow for synergetic coupling of enterprise CLR core competencies with emerging DLR technologies making diagnostic application development even more efficient!

Another langauge that won't ever get mainstream recognition in development, I'll stick my money on the favourite (c#).

Microsoft has just announced IronRuby at their MIX 07 conference. This also kicks off a bigger effort to support dynamic languages on .NET. Based on the experience gained in developing IronPython, a common Dynamic Language Runtime (DLR) builds the foundation for IronRuby, IronPython, JavaScript (EcmaScript 3.0) and Visual Basic. http://www.infoq.com/news/2007/04/ms-ironruby[^]

How could our very own avatar of Ruby fail to notice this announcement? Perhaps he's been kidnapped by aliens. Or beaten senseless by angry mobs of php coders. Or simply passed out in front of the pub again.

I do. I'm just leary when Microsoft takes over something, whether it's sanctioned or not. Marc

Remember that Microsoft needs to cover all bases. It's part of their paranoia. They always act as though they're about to go out of business.
