I don't think we're hearing the full situation here. There is obviously an underlying cause for the way that you perceive these people are behaving towards you. You really need to have a long hard think about the way that others see you, and why they act this way to you. Are you the new person in a tightly knit office? If you are, you will have to bide your time. Do you use innappropriate behaviour/language? Do you interrupt others? Do you act as though you know more than the others? I know that this seems harsh but you will not be able to change attitudes (yours or theirs) without figuring out what the underlying cause could be. As far as the work goes, it is common to put the newbie into bug fixing. I know it's not interesting, but it is one way to learn what the software does. Plus, somebody has to do it and that's normally the last one in. If the problem really is with you then changing jobs isn't going to help. You will merely switch locations for your misery. Do you try to join in with the others outside work? Consider that going out for dinner/drinks with your colleagues is a good way to break the ice and to show you are part of the team. Plus, remember that you "Work to live" and not the other way round. The work day may seem long and boring to you, but you are still getting paid and you can look forward to things outside work. That can be a big compensation when you don't particularly like your job.

Understood thanks dude... iven been in this company for a year and a half and two newbies came after me....i have development tasks before and they all turned out good, for example last week one of the newbies got a development task and im stuck with bugs, Like i said im trying my best. Some times ice is broken and we talk of something else for like 5mins which is good because we're at work, but i think praise for good work is needed in order to keep the employee happy no? Am i wrong? if not correct me. I am not stating that they are the problem, The problem is the whole situation...Which i mean to tackle with you guys's advice which is very responsive :) and i thank you for that.

    Cheers

Dude, if your boss is telling you to stop SMSing at work, then stop. If your boss is making a joke of you, look for another job.

Maybe your problem is that you're too defensive ? I'm not taking a shot at you, at least, that was not my intention.

Seriously, would YOU want to hang out at a bar with someone that calls himself "Pinky"? His co-workers can probably smell death on him, so they instinctively treat him as a pariah. He should probably consider a change of vocations to something that more suits his abilities - like driving a Taxi.

there is no need to change if u feel that you are not doing anything wrong. Try to find a better place. But problems and issues are part of any professional atmosphere. We got to cope with certain things. There is no point in trying to change the system. If people dont wish you back, stop wishing such people. If everybody from a janator to your boss irritates you, then there should be some problem with that place or with you. So taking a break from work might help, spent time with your loved ones! Life and time is precious buddy, dont waste a moment of it! Just enjoy it the way it comes. Blumen

Blah blah blah blah blah... You post a message here, and you should expect satire, wit, sarcasm, insults, and ridicule. I'm one of the few people here that tries to include all of those aspects in every one of my messages. It's more efficient that way.

I'm impressed. MAJOR SYSTEMS ONLINE! MY GOD! Had I known, I would have been content to cower in the corner like the noob I obviously am! I'd be real careful if I were you. I've seen "major systems online" that contained enough rubbish code to fill a football stadium. Grow a bone, dude.
