Woodhaven?

I got to enjoy another fine moment of NYC today. I got off the train to go to my office. After ascending some stairs a middle-aged woman, with her two little kids (5-7?), asked "How do I get to Woodhaven?" I didn't know, so I politely told her, "Sorry, I don't know." Her response shocked me. She stared at me angrily and said, "Yeah, well I'm sorry about this." She then proceeded to give me the finger and stare at me with a look of pure disgust for about six or seven seconds. Eye-to-eye contact the whole time. The most bizarre thing is that her kids were laughing their heads off about it. They thought their mother was doing something extremely funny. :wtf:

I can't maintain any, even superficial, form of politeness in a situation like that. She would have got at least a firm, "F.. you!" Kids or no kids.

Thanks, I was having trouble with the tower.. "Anduhl stares at you. You wonder what's coming next... ..Anduhl kicks you in the wood, you are dead." and to think all I needed was the old Platinite Armour :doh:
Nothing is exactly what it seems but everything with seems can be unpicked.
Actually you only need the Platinite Jockstrap ...
I'm largely language agnostic

I can only imagine she has some kind of mental illness, which she has passed on to her kids as well.. (I lived and worked in NYC area for nearly five years, and I can say that people are generally extremely nice, except a few who seem to feel obliged to be rude just because they happen to be in NYC)

There are all manor of people in the world. Rudeness is not isolated from mothers, or mothers with kids, or anyone. I would have probably got the same response. I have had similar reactions from others, for various grevances from not knowing something, to actually doing something wrong (like opening a door for someone, saying hello, etc. -- chivalry has been demoted to evil). I basically tell myself it is their issue, and it is not worth me doing anything about it. I do what I can to be who I am, I will not change to be rude back. They can be as rude as they want, I just tilt my head in farewell and allow them to be rude to the wall in my absence.

At that point, you should have simply made up a trip that consisted of 4 or 5 transfers, which included all 5 boroughs.

darnit... I prefer the Flaming Sword of Grandmyre. Can I substitute the Armor of Speed and Strength with gauntlets of deflection along with the lasso of truth? Platinite Armor clashes with my Cape of Endless spell casting.

Reminds me of the one time when an older woman stopped me in the street to ask direction, well I assume that was what she was doing, because she didn't speak a word of English and I didn't speak a word of whatever she was speaking (Greek perhaps?). She looked very annoyed when I had to just say "I'm sorry, I don't understand what you are saying" and walked away.
