Nice lesson in how to say nothing verbosely.

Unfortunately, it's not much of a response at the moment. Eric can't directly answer what is or is not going to be in the language until Microsoft officially makes those announcements (which will happen in a few weeks at PDC). All I can say is that I think there will be some things that people are asking for (and some that people aren't) and that some people will like the direction the languages are heading and others won't. Like Eric, I'll have more I can say after PDC.

"pointed me at this long thread on a third-party forum" Is there some reason he can't simply write "CodeProject"? That's kind of lame otherwise.

Exactly! I say we start an online Internot petition to shut him down. That'll show him the wisdom of the crowds, the righteous wrath of the many unsung heroes out there, the outraged obsolescence of the omnipotent group-think!

I'm pretty sure there's some sort of training they put all new MS employees through, where they learn 1) how to write long, boring essays without actually providing any useful information, 2) how to avoid ever mentioning any product or company names that don't belong to Microsoft, 3) how to write about Microsoft implementations of ancient Unix tools such that they sound new and "innovative", 4) how to close bugs / squelch ideas using only references to secret priority rankings on a private, internal product management systems.

You're right. These facts that you've laid out totally contradict the wild ramblings that I pulled off the back of cornflakes packets.

16 hours? When do you take your generous holidays? I work 169 hours a week and still squeeze supper and beer in at the pub!;P
