This was in today CP newsletter http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/devlabs/cc950525.aspx[^] This tool looks very interesting but after downloading and runing setup it told me that I need Visual Studio 2010 :(( Am I missing something? Last time I've checked we have only VS2008
You can download the VS2008 *academic* version from http://research.microsoft.com/pex/downloads.aspx[^].

That's because it's like what Feynman wrote about regarding reviewing school textbooks from the publisher (which were all blank pages, you simply judged the textbook by its cover and thickness). There is no code yet, and they figure this way, they have a year or more to build up the hype and actually get something working. I predict it won't be around in 12 months. No actually, it'll have gone through several incarnations and renames with beta's and CTP's of different versions, leaving the developer wondering where and what is the most up-to-date distribution. Like synchronization services. Like Object Spaces / Entity Framework / LinqSQL. Microsoft seems to be developing technology so fast that it obsoletes current work before it even has had a chance to be RTM'd. Now there's another buzzword "RTW." Release to WEB. Another step in the "here's some untested stuff we threw together for you to gnash your teeth on." Marc
Marc, There is already code and you can try it out on VS2008. You can download today an *academic* version of Pex at http://research.microsoft.com/pex/downloads.aspx[^]. Cheers, Peli (Pex developer)
