The work and training issues would be the best place for this query, and I think the 1 votes on your post are unfair (I'll counter with a 5). 1. Get a book and start reading about database administration. 2. Tell your boss/supervisor about your aspiration and ask if there is a position for in the company. You may need to be patient if there is none. 3. Check if your company provides any kind of support or guidance. Make use of it and gradually change your role.
