Can some folk down under recommend one or two hosts/packages for me? I'm trying to quote for a basic CMS site for a lady in Australia, and want to include hosting costs for both a .NET based site (using Umbraco) and a LAMP based site (using Drupal).

I use Ilisys - I have found them to be excellent, but they aren't the cheapest.

I'm in Oz but I'm hosted in America. Why should she absolutely be hosted in Oz? Here is my provider (i'm happy with them) http://www.arvixe.com/[^]

I've used Ilisys[^] in the past and they were very good but they no longer offer IIS based services, or at least they don't advertise them, for IIS based hosting I'm currently using Entity Data[^] who so far have been very responsive in dealing with the few issues I've had.

When they say "unlimited disk space and data transfer" for $5 per month, they obviously can't really mean it - can they?

If you think about most web sites unlimited is probably irrelevant as the throghput is probably minimal. If you really need volume you would not go for a minimal package. I also use arvive and think they are good.

I use Arvixe[^] as well, they aren't OZ based but have not had a day's problems with them in the 2 years I have been using their services.

                  But what's minimal about unlimited?

I wouldn't know, my website is very low traffic. That said I found they have very good service.
