But Byrd used the N word just a couple of years ago. By using the same level of thinking the democrats are using against Lott, we can say that Byrd is a racist.

You need to get out from under that rock from time to time Chris. ;) The Democrats from Ted Kennedy to Kwaese Mfume (that has to be misspelled) have lambasted Lott for their own political benefit. Even Jesse Jackson stepped into it.

When you actually have some knowledge about what you're talking about, and when you've grown enough gray matter to actually form an opinion based on fact and studied reflection, then, and only then, may you speak. this article[^] is about Trent Lott. I'm not a specialist of US internal politics, but from the articles I've read I believe this guy is one of these f*cking "hidden" racists, who is now ready to say anything to save his job. (This rant is NOT about the GOP, I don't know if Lott is representative of the Republican mentality)

No wonder you feel the need to express an adverse opinion about politics in this country. You're from France. That fact alone explains a lot, and we all know that being from France makes you an expert on everything in the United States. ------- signature starts "...the staggering layers of obscenity in your statement make it a work of art on so many levels." - Jason Jystad, 10/26/2001 Please review the Legal Disclaimer in my bio. ------- signature ends

now hold on a second. you're claiming that the republicans are suddenly the champions of diversity, tolerance and expression? the homophobic, xenophobic, church-and-state-mingling, morality-dictating republicans are now the people ensuring a diverse and tolerant USA? WTF? -c
