SWI: Sitting While Intoxicated

KaЯl wrote: Is it forbidden It is in a lot of countries AFAIK. Causes moral degradation in young children who see you of course... Actually I think it is because the few spoil it for the rest of us by be drunk and disordely on the streets. On many beaches you are not allowed to drink alcohol either, though they only enforce that when the beach is packed. Don't want drunk SOBs causing fights.

That's why here it's forbidden to be drunk in public places AFAIK, not to drink in public places :)

KaЯl wrote: That's why here it's forbidden to be drunk in public places AFAIK, not to drink in public places This is the law, we cannot apply logic. Their thinking must be that prevention is better than cure and so stop public drunks getting drunk in public in the first place. i.e. Lets not have to wait till he is drunk, but nail him as soon as we see the bottle go for his lips. KaЯl wrote: Angels banished from heaven have no choice but to become demons Cowboy Bebop What on earth is Cowboy Bebop?

Sounds like a case of Smalldickitis. Feeling the need to be seen as a big man. Seriously, what if the person getting pissed is a passenger or is getting a cab home. How is this a danger to the public? Is it true that US police give sobriety tests by getting people to count, say the alphabet and touch their nose? I'd just say ' fuck off cunt, and get the breataliser out'. Isn't the US the most technologically advanced country in the world and they still test for alcohol like it's 1620 or something. Is that in the constitution? "As much as officers hate to spoil a good time, they hate even more to go out at 2 a.m. and work a death of anybody that is alcohol related," Grinnan said. ...but if it's not alcohol related we don't give a fuck. :-D Michael Martin Australia mjm68@tpg.com.au "I personally love it because I can get as down and dirty as I want on the backend, while also being able to dabble with fun scripting and presentation games on the front end." - Chris Maunder 15/07/2002
Michael Martin wrote: Is that in the constitution? Well, your right not to incriminate yourself is in the Constitution. But, in all states, not submitting to a sobriety test will cause you to loose your driver's license. Driving is a priveledge, not a right. My Driver's License (Florida) says at the bottom, "Operation of a motor vehicle constitutes consent to any sobriety test required by law." Jason Gerard qeou kai kurios Iasou Cristou doulos

I'm not the droid you're looking for.
In England it is illegal to be (not merely serve) intoxicated within a public house. How the hell they enforce that one I'd like to know. [edit] Can anyone point me to some reliable information about this? It was something my dad told me (we used to run a pub and worked in them till '98 or so).

It's clearly in the same category as Cowboy Bebop, but I would say it's IMHO a little less good: There isn't the beautiful drawing style there's on Bebop, and the music is less impressive :) However characters are interesting and the stories seem good. I don't know Vampire Hunter, but I will look for it, thanks for the tip :)

KaЯl wrote: Hey, give me the correct word instead of bashing only! My bad, I figured you didn't use it because you were explaining what it was :-O Anime is the term I've always used, but some people prefer Japanimation. Then there is Hentai which is "porn" (the leading type of hentai is 'tentacle rape' where monsters rape women, usually with penis shaped tentacles X|) Then there other terms to refer to gay/lesbian hentai, but I forget what those are. KaЯl wrote: There isn't the beautiful drawing style there's on Bebop, and the music is less impressive I'll give you that, it might just be how I ended up watching Bebop as opposed to Trigun in that I had long breaks between episodes of Bebop where-as I watch all of Trigun over a couple nights. I think the story of Trigun is better than Bebop; but my prior reason probably has some influence on that as well. Vampire Hunter D is way different, it is a movie (rather old as well). But it was also the first anime I saw and it hooked me. James "It is self repeating, of unknown pattern" Data - Star Trek: The Next Generation

We use here the generic term of "manga" to cover japanimation, but I wasn't sure the word was international :) James T. Johnson wrote: Trigun is better than Bebop How do you do not to be in love with Faye Valentine? :wtf::-O:-D James T. Not really original, I know :-D

KaЯl wrote: We use here the generic term of "manga" to cover japanimation, but I wasn't sure the word was international According to the group I was with, manga referred to the books and drawings, while anime/japanimation was the TV episodes/movies. KaЯl wrote: How do you do not to be in love with Faye Valentine? Who said otherwise? :-D KaЯl wrote: My favorite anime movies are still "Ghosts in the Shell" Ahh, thats another good one. For something completely different you could look for "Sakura Diaries", its a bit fucked up (a girl falls in love with her cousin) but was still fun to watch. I didn't get to see all of it, but "Excel Saga" was WAY messed up. There was another one that was making the rounds last summer called "Jungle wa.... " something or other, it was another quirky one. Both of those were fan-subs (ie, someone taped the show as it aired in Japan then subtitled it manually). James "It is self repeating, of unknown pattern" Data - Star Trek: The Next Generation

Jeez, that's stupid. The only time an officer should be able to do that is if the drunk person is causing trouble. Luckily, the police in my town are pretty lenient, I've been caught drinking beer while walking down the sidewalk and all they did was make me pour it out (God, I had to waste good Budweiser!:)). I really like that they are trying to cut down on alcohol related accidents but punishing people for having some harmless fun isn't right. Brad Jennings
Good Budweiser? :wtf: Is that possible??? Anna :rose: www.annasplace.me.uk
