I've never seen a recent movie in 3D. Last movie was some revival with the old school glasses.

Surprising! I would suggest you to watch at least one new 3D movie, if you fancy. The new 3D technology is quite a decent transformation from the old one.

I'm sure you people watched more than bunch of movies in 3D. what's your favorite one? or which one was good? Leave the animation genre. I heard that most(60-70%) 3D movies sucks. I remember Pompeyboy posted a message long time ago.......wait got it[^] Though I have seen more than couple of 3D movies, only satisfied with Dredd[^] untill now. Awesome movie but sadly that movie didn't get good box office collection.

Recently most 3D movies that I watched, could have been just 2D. It is converted to 3D just for charging extra money, I believe.

The Hobbit was outstanding. I saw it in the 3D/48 fps version.

First 'proper' movie I saw in 3d was Avatar - and I thought it was well done - not too many '3d-specific' gimmick shots, and an enjoyable enough movie IMHO I found I just forgot about the 3d and enjoyed the movie. Most of the others I've seen have been animations - and the best of those are the 4D movies at movie world - Honey I shrunk the Kids has a not-to-be-forgotten moment when the dogs head zooms out of the screen (the audience has been shrunk, at this point, so the dog's head is full screen!), and slobbers - and the audience gets sprayed with water!

What's a good one in 3d? Not for technology, but good story? Most seem to be weak on story / acting / etc. I loved Prometheus, maybe I'll try that?

I actively avoid seeing anything in 3D... 3D is a rort of the highest order, and as an added bonus, plays havoc with my motion sickness and eyesight... go figure. I don't understand why anyone would want to watch anything in 3D!! (Could be because I feel nauseous and have a headache after even a short time...)

Avatar is good both for technology and story/acting.

Wat you want 3d and a good story, fussy bugger! I've been known to go to the imax 3d but I missed Jack and the Giants and had to see it on a notmal size screen in 3d. I sat up the front of one of those mini cinemas, instant imax and saved me $15. One of the best to see was Alice in wonderland, yeah the freedom animation has makes a hell of a difference. I am curious as to just how "in your face" 3d pron will be!

Even my experience is similar to most of the people here. I guess I have seen 6-7 movies in 3D and apart from Avatar, I liked none. After each of the movie I thought I should have rather watched it in 2D. I guess I will avoid 3D versions for sometime unless someone tells me that the 3D version is really good.
