You don't need to be rich. LTC (Linear Technology Corporation) do a version of SPICE free for the downloading. http://www.linear.com/LTspiceIV?utm_medium=email&utm_source=transactional&utm_campaign=LT_Insider[^] They also have how-to videos and other helpful stuff on their site. As usual, no affiliation... Just a happy sometime user. Cheers, Peter

In a different decade century millennia life I was designing PCB in OrCad. I doubt it's worth the money if you're not a professional. Otherwise I can really recommend a proper soldering station. I'm quite partial to the old fashioned Weller WTCP series, because the magnastat temperaturesensor is the actual tip.

Great soldering stations! Does Weller still make them?

Still avaiable here, anyway. I still have the one I bought in 1969, and a bucketload of assorted tips. The iron plating means the tips last for ages. Used it on everything from tiny surface mount chips to stained glass panels. Didn't manage the car radiator unassisted, though. In all that time, had to buy one replacement sleeve. Cheers, Peter
