Intersting (not the stuff) how trying to read it reminded me how reading Dutch really teases at an English reader. Especially knowing some German. Just so close to, but not quite, readable.* * Do Netherlanders feel the same about reading Dutch?

We sometimes get sick of the Dutch language too, I really dislike using the "Dutch" version of Windows, yuk :~ Although a lot of words are the same in German, some words can mean something totally different. For instance "bellen" means using the phone in Dutch, but in German it means "barking". Imagine the confusion when Dutch people are asking if they can use the phone in Germany: "kann Ich hier bellen?"

I've heard that from other people too - either we are getting older, or diseases are getting stronger.

You forgot the third option - we are getting weaker.

Been in bed with the flu since Sunday. I don't think I've ever been this sick in my life. Today I woke up and I had more energy than the rest of the week combined (which has mostly been negative anyway). Even just laying in bed was too tiresome. Things started to get better when my mom brought me some high dose pain killers. Anyway, glad that's (mostly) over...

Warm a cup of milk, add a teaspoon of ground black pepper. Drink within 2 minutes, and go to bed. Works every time.

Wow, eight days... :omg: I've had four and it was driving me mad. The worst part was wanting to get some pain killers, but they were downstairs and I had to get out of bed to get them. Don't be sick and alone. Always have someone to bring you your meds :sigh: At least I had the cat to keep me company.

Wishes for a speedy recovery. For my sh*tty week, I tore my distal biceps tendon last Saturday. Just had repair surgery yesterday, now comes the post-surgery pain, PT, etc. Scott

Ouch, speedy recovery to you too! I'm guessing yours is going to take a bit longer than mine.
