I finally had the time to research your claim about the Betsy Ross flag and not surprisingly you're totally wrong. Turns out the experts - law enforcement, hate group monitors (whomever they are) - all say there is no connection between the flag and neo-Nazis. They say a few years ago, one minor group of losers flew the Betsy Ross flag at a couple rallies. It didn't catch on so they dropped it. They all agree that that flag has NEVER even remotely been a symbol of anything other than the American revolution. Your entire argument is based on... wait for it... a lie. Even your pet media has caught on to the lie and is now removing references to neo-Nazis from their articles. Instead they're just going with the silly idea that the Betsy Ross flag simply represents early America (when slavery existed) so it must be purged from existence. Your ilk is embarrassing themselves. Watching the progressive / leftist movement is like watching a slow motion train wreck. Sad but fascinating...

The Beer Prayer - Our lager, which art in barrels, hallowed be thy drink. Thy will be drunk, I will be drunk, at home as it is in the tavern. Give us this day our foamy head, and forgive us our spillage as we forgive those who spill against us. And lead us not to incarceration, but deliver us from hangovers. For thine is the beer, the bitter and the lager, for ever and ever. Barmen.

If that's all you could come up with, you did a piss-poor job of "research". It took me less than 60 seconds to find articles to support my position.

    Nope.

No, I'm not. It's not as common as I had thought, but it has often been used by white supremists to harken back to a time when Blacks were considered sub-human. It is very closely associated with the Patriot movement and is used by other hate groups, including the KKK, as well.

Nope. It's not as significant as I thought but if Nike made a mistake in pulling the shoe it's only because wing-nuts lost their sh_i_t over it. But I'm sure Nike expected it, because wing-nuts always lose their sh_i_t over Kaepernick.

I've seen nothing to suggest that. That's just a strawman.

 Wing-nuts losing their sh_i_t over this is what's embarrassing. Well it would be if they had any shame. It's obvious that this 'controversy' has nothing to do with the flag or Nike. It's all about hating Kaepernick.

          Quote:

The American flag sewn by Betsy Ross is not a symbol of early American history that is totally devoid of meaning. It has been used by some extremist groups as a means of telegraphing a return to more traditionalist (re: predominantly white and male) American ideals. “Under the guise of ‘heritage,’ symbols of early U.S. history have long been adopted by hate groups set on returning to a time when all non-white people were viewed as subhuman and un-American,” says Keegan Hankes, research analyst for the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). “Historically, these symbols have been used by white supremacists, both to hearken back to a time when black people were enslaved, while also painting themselves as the inheritors of the ‘true’ American tradition.”

          Quote:

“This is not a flag I see waving at events or seeing displayed on their websites,” Mark Pitcavage, a senior research fellow at the Center of Extremism at the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), tells Rolling Stone. It has, however, been associated with the Patriot Movement, an anti-government, extremist right-wing movement that encompasses smaller fringe movements such as the militia movement, the sovereign citizen movement, and the tax protest movement. (Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh was highly influenced by militia movement ideology.) The militia movement, says Pitcavage, is the youngest of the three, dating from about the mid-1990s, and has been using the Betsy Ross flag, among other Revolutionary War-era symbols, since its inception. “Because they view themselves as analogous to American revolutionaries, they love to use old flags from that era,” he says, citing the Revolutionary War-era “don’t tread on me” flag as another example. The Betsy Ross flag is apparently so closely identified with the Patriot Movement that until this morning, it was the main image of its Wikipedia page, according to reporter Charles Robinson. The sources factcheck.org uses have financial incentives to exaggerate bigotry problems. Admitting a crisis is over is like telling their donors to stop donating. Today, 99.99% of complaints about white nationalism are overblown red herrings not worth noticing.

The idea that white nationalism is becoming a serious problem in the USA when white nationalists are nearly impossible to find is an extraordinary claim that requires extraordinary evidence. Since the evidence is thin-to-none, there's nothing to discuss, other than why political hacks are trying to make a non-issue into an issue.
