Sound of the Week
-
Sayaka Kanda - 虹色の夏 (Rainbow Summer)[^] A Japanese track this week! I'm done playing Tales of Vesperia (well, not done, but anything else would require endless grinding) and I'm looking for a new game to play. I found the Atelier series, which is apparently pretty popular in Japan with over twenty main games, about 17 spin-offs and plenty of remasters and ports. It looks great, gets good reviews, but the style looks like its main audience is kawaii Japanese girls, so I'm not sure if it's really my thing. What is my thing, is the soundtrack, which is great. This is the opening theme (or so I've been led to believe) and it's been playing on repeat. Sayaka Kanda is also big in Japan as an actress (in movies and theater) and a singer, but not so big outside. You may know her from the Kingdom Hearts III soundtrack as well. Unfortunately she committed suicide in 2021 by jumping off a building at the age of 35 :( She may smile down upon us, knowing she's SOTW! :D

Try not having a wife / girlfriend and kids. You'd be surprised how much free time that gets you ;)

I do not have to "try". Some things do not come naturally to me or not. I merely assumed programmers work 48h/d. I now realize this is a stupid assumption as many here have referred to the Misses. Though my own guiding principle is "Working Code Happy Abode" - Best

I have been playing this guy's stuff in the background all night. You might also like it: [TIEFUNDTON LIVE@VÖLKERSCHLACHTDENKMAL LEIPZIG | TECHNO VIDEO SET](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSmYJ60bW9s&list=TLPQMDMxMDIwMjLOaWvZW9wDyQ&index=28). I found his work in another person's mix. I've only listened to the first song in this 1+ hour set, but it is FANTASTIC [make that 2 now - both fantastic!], and since many of the previous songs in the list have also been great I felt compelled to shout it out. (Many of his songs are mashups of his beats on top of other artist's songs, like Enya. I've felt he has pulled those off quite well compared to most since I usually don't like those.) In other words, you might want to check out some of his other stuff.
