Ctrl-R, cmd<enter>is all a real programmer needs. And the command shell doesn't lie about file extensions, either. (and "doskey dir=dir /a $*" makes things even more explicit). ;Pno no no BASH is all you need. cmd.exe is for noobs... ¡El diablo está en mis pantalones! ¡Mire, mire! Well, Microsoft is definitely guilty of hiding file extensions by default; a feature which most of us don't like, and which caused Brian to spend more time on the problem than he would have otherwise. Regards, Alvaro

Normally I do not allow exceptions to propagate to the top level, UI is always protected at all cost. My apps do not GPF ever! This was really something I did not expect ( most files to have double extensions ). In fact I think this was funny, I was given a print screen with hidden double extensions and comparing it to real files. Brian

I turn off "Show Web contents in folders", "hide extensions", "hide system files", "hide hidden files and folders", turn on "full path in adress bar", "title bar", "show compressed files and folders in this beautiful blue", set the current folder to "Details" view, then click "Show folders like current one" when I get to use some stranger's explorer.

When Longhorn comes out, I predict I'm gonna reverse every option and checkbox without even looking at them.
