An inf file is a setup file. It associates a hardware ID, such as you will see in the Manufacturers section, with various registry entires, the most important of which is the service entry since it determines the form of the HKLM\sys\CCS\Services\ entry for that device (or filter or whatever). You will also get a Hardware entry in the Registry that associates that Service for a particular Hardware ID, if it is a driver for hardware. Check the DDK/WDK for more info on inf files and driver installation.

Thanks Jochen, The USB device in question is implemented by me, so I know that ZLP's are not required and under normal operation all packets will be read imediatly (pretty quick anyway). This will make the floating point equivalent of the 4 byte integer interpretation of the bytes (i.e. "08 01 00 00" will make you 264.0), not the IEEE single precision floating point number represented there.

I take it you have looked here[^] here[^] and here[^] Typically I prefer to open an AVD from the AVD manager first and then run my app once it has started. Even better test on a real device, they are faster. "You get that on the big jobs."

Hi Dave, Thanks for the info. I am not looking for a tranaparent control. I am drawing the image with Graphics.DrawImage(). I just need to draw it after the the forms controls are drawn so that it is on top.
