Yes, but the MSDN documentation also refers it as User Locale. http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms776246.aspx[^] See under the column Standards and formats and against the row Purpose.

Thanks but this is not enough.:( setLocale() is specific to the current program, I need to modify User Local which we modify through the Control Panel --> Regional and Language Options --> Regional Settings. One way I found out is modifying the registry at the following location HKEY_CURRENT_USER --> Control Panel --> International --> Locale But I need an elegent solution.

Is the GDIPlus functionalty in .Net threadsafe? e.g For Bitmap class, the MSDN states "Any public static (Shared in Visual Basic) members of this type are thread safe. Seems like u lived in India for longer time. In India, we have apprx 30 states. So The local govenrment and rulers change state to state, and so does the importance of relations and amount of corruption. In the state where I live, corruption relatively less. Ofcourse I am proud of being Indian.

  • Problem with using OleLoadPicture in multithreaded application
    A a mulay

As you said there was this problem too that the threads were not getting terminated. Then one of my friends suggested using mutex object. So I tried to use mutex whereever memory allocation is needed and it worked. :-D Also the threads are getting terminated properly. But still there is a problem and that is of the memory not getting freed. Anyway, I will look into it. Thank you, Amit.
