I did not notice. I did notice it was corny and cliche a disappointment. Also I dislike the undisciplined manner in which the crew speak to the Captain. I would prefer if Captain Pike ran a tighter ship. Will probably continue to watch unless it refuses to improve.

It will eventually be forgotten, but that is the way of software. No one will know it is there in the repo. This seems like more of a labeling situation than a branch. With this team, if they had created a branch, then no one would have the guts to merge it back to the mainline.

Good morning to all of you that replied to this. I appreciate all that you have responded with here. But quite frankly I am well aware of planning, budgets, testing etc. If I had been in charge of this, I would have started working in all this two or more years ago. But what is, is. Nor do I need suggestions on updating the HTML or JS or frameworks, etc. All of that is pretty straightforward. What I was looking for was any information from those people who have dealt with those truly IE specific technology issues when moving to a modern browser like Edge-chromium. Things like, has anyone else had to deal with the - - noframemerging issue and what you did to overcome this. Or replacing the IE specific WebBrowser control in a WinForms app with the WebView2 control, especially when the WebView2 control does not support IE Mode. Maybe this is too technical for the Lounge. In that case contact me directly. I can get all of these together and put out an article here for anyone else dealing with this (giving credit where credit is due). Thanks again...

Exactly. If everything was built using (pretty much) the same tools, then great, otherwise...there's always going to be some hole and the assessment is always going to remain incomplete. What impact that has on the answer it'll find for you depends on the question being asked.

We've been trying to track down this and similar issues for quite some time. Something is overloading the servers in a way that impacts the system's ability to handle the database responses in a timely fashion, and the requests fail. They were about 2 years apart, but that's initial release, not when planning and work started on them. Anyhoo, the bottom line is that once it became possible to 'multi-task' DOS applications, OS/2 was pretty much doomed because Microsoft could continue to milk that cow instead of forcing the adoption of a new standard. Obviously forcing a new standard is hard, but we'd have all been far better off for it. As to the compatibility there isn't much that I can see. The OS/2 API was extremely consistent in terms of naming and parameters and such. The Win32 API was basically a hacked up version of the previous Windows APIs. Win32 is a mess in comparison to the OS/2 interfaces. IBM took OS/2 on to the 32 bit form and it was nice, though of course back then it took like 25 floppy disks to install or some such. In my experience, the "AI" considers almost anything with a "proper name" and / or an acronym, in the middle of a sentence, as "spam"; regardless of who posted it. Considering how "complex" it must be to deal with this case, I do not see a solution forthcoming.

Agencies dont hand out their clients name so it often takes a bit of digging around to find the firm. If you speak to the agency, then they pretty much own you in respect of that job, and can take you to court if they find out you have cut them out of the deal.
