The color scheme change (default) made me raise an eyebrow... just one of those "why'd they do that?" moments - no biggie. Seems to be running fine for me - I think you need a system upgrade! You'll really enjoy a faster / more stable computing experience.

Definitely a legend in his own time! Rest in peace!

Yeah, Microsoft has done such a poor job in defining this product, it is crazy, especially since it is doing very well in the marketplace. I think part of the confusion comes from the Sharepoint Portal Services (free part of it) vs the Sharepoint Portal Server (all the toys included) products. There does seem to be more books and tutorials on it nowadays though, so seems like it's starting to define itself better.

Yeah, it's emotional eating. I get similar cravings when I'm not that interested in what I'm working on, but am being forced to do it anyway :) It's just your brains way of trying to relieve the stress the situation is causing (boredom is a form of stress ;)) Exercising for a few minutes does help, if you have that option... usually gets rid of the munchies for a while.

You all sure are wasting alot of "time" discussing this :)

I installed the new software last night as soon as I got home... first impressions are that I like the device UI updates, good job there!, not sure about the desktop software yet... I like the fact that it picked up all my Media PC recordings, and has a nice videos area (did a quick sysnc of a South Park episode :)), so that's cool... seems a bit sluggish when displaying album art, but I chalked that up to maybe it was still discovering things. Also, it seemed to be mixing up a lot of my albums with other albums, so this could potentially not be good... it was displaying the wrong album art, and tracks for certain albums. I'll give it today to sync itself up, possibly, so it might be better tonight. I see they added an area for downloading Podcasts too, so it looks like they actually made it a lot easier to manage your video content in this version. I never had any video or podcasts on my device, because it seemed like it didn't support it previously, or you had to jump through hoops to get it to recognize it (a bit of laziness on my part, but I really like that it makes it easy in the new version!!! I'll actually start syncing my recorded shows and others now :)) Ok, so I'm definitely going to need an 80 gig model for video!!

I think a lot of your frustration comes from the fact that editing a Word document, and a web page are totally different, and people don't like that. All the little subtle layout quirks that exist when doing web page layouts, and trying to get it to look the way you want it take time to figure out. Not to mention all the different browsers that render things slightly different... it is a nightmare for us web developers :)

Thanks for the link... I had already saw that a couple weeks ago, and it definitely sounds like there's some cool things happening in 2k8!

VWDE is a GREAT product for development, although for page layout, I'd still load up FP2K3 or the new Expression Web (Need to buy this yet, as my trial expired!). I hardly ever do page layouts anymore, so 95% of my time is spent using Visual Studio .Net 2k3 and just starting to use 2k5, which is quite nice imo! I am excited to try 2k8, if it meshes the FP/Expression Web WYSIWYG stuff w/ Visual Studio!!!

Visual Studio sucks as a page layout tool, imo, and always has, although I hear VS 2008 has incorparated the same payout toold that Expression Web (Frontpage replacement) uses, so this might be a big improvement! I haven't had time to install and use VS 2008 yet though, so just going from what I heard.
You're right, the older versions of Frontpage were well known for reformatting your HTML code. The most recent version of FP was very good at not reformatting. It's a great WYSIWYG editor for doing page layouts, imo, although, NEVER mention that you use Frontpage for ANYTHING while at a job interview lol It will instantly ruin your credibility, trust me :)
