SPs are the best for your db an sql: 1) less traffic on your network 2) best performance on your db 3) encapsulation and security are easier to manage.

Theoretically you could do this by setting the CommandType to Text and then issue the command directly. I would strongly advise you against doing this however. This is not a good design, and it is certainly not a robust or secure design. By passing in parameters as part of a string, you open yourself right up for Sql Injection attacks. I cannot see any reason, apart from convenience, why you would do this. I think the major difference between C++/CLI and C# is the fact that you can mix managed and unmanaged code thus gaining performance etc where you need it, it's more flexible in that aspect. But then again if you're doing stuff that really doesn't need all the strong points of C++ (e.g. performance is not critical) then C# is probably a better way to go, it also has the advantage (I think) that once you learn it you can apply the same stuff to C++/CLI with more or less just a change in syntax. Of course I may be completely wrong as I've done very little C++/CLI work :~ Formula 1 - Short for "F1 Racing" - named after the standard "help" key in Windows, it's a sport where participants desperately search through software help files trying to find actual documentation. On today's computers and with the JVM's out there today, I'd say both run about equally as fast. Personally, I like JSP when I'm running my own server (running tomcat). If you are using a hosting company to host your site, I'd definately use asp. Unless you want to spend quite a bit of money, most of your java hosts use a shared VM for your site, and they are not very much fun to work. Otherwise, I'd say both perform about equally performance wise...it just comes down to language preference then.
