As most people seem to agree, I don't certifications will help in any role on a day to day basis. They are only worth while to get you past the first hurdle of the CV scan by a potential employer and get you to a face to face interview.

What certifications are good to have and worth my time perusing? I am looking to add such things to my resume to make it stand out. I am a software engineer with experience in C#. I am also interested in JavaScript Frameworks and SQL. -

Just how hard is it...When I was learning to program (a long, long time ago), I was told that untidy code always contained more errors that tidy, well laid out code. If the programmer was too lazy to lay the code out neatly, what else was he too lazy to do.

Built my first computer 40 years agoThe first computer I worked on had a 1MB drum memory. There was only one compiler for it in the world, in California, and I was in London, the only modem in the company was the other side of the site, and I had to create punch tape to move the code form modem to computer. It was old and slow, (bit like me now) but it got into my blood and I am still coding 30 years later.
